4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
375ml corked bottle, 2014 vintage. Another great beer from lost abbey! Great aroma of bourbon, oak, vanilla, dark fruit and a little bit booze. Pours black with virtually no head but what's there is light brown with no lacing. Starts with dark fruit and bourbon flavors with hints of vanilla. Finishes extremely smooth with oak flavors joining the party with some booze lingering on the palate. Great beer, rich and flavorful.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
One of the most amazing beers Iíve had. This brew has it all: maltiness, fruit, oak, and even a touch of citrussy bitterness from the hops. Leaves a nice but not overwhelming finish. Outstanding!

2013 vintage. Wonderful brew. Nice barrel character accompanied with dark fruits, plum, raisin, prunes, figs, dates, and toffee and dark brown sugar. Well crafted brew. Wish I had more than 1.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into a wine glass on 05.19.14.
A: Midnight black with no red in the glass. No head, only a tan ring at the top, typical of Lost Abbey.
S: Strong vanilla, brandy, bourbon, wood barrel. Amazingly complex!
T: Vanilla, dark cherry, plum dominate. Oak barrel, milk chocolate, raisin are subtle.
M: SIlky smooth. Itís like velvet. Somewhat chewy.
O: This is a beer for a special event. To say that it is complex does not do it justice. I got a wash after wash of flavor. It was very difficult to pick apart. I didnít think that the blend of Serpentís Stout and Angelís Share would work, but oh man it does.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Erzbierschof - Black color with a fast disappearing brown head, small lacing - Aroma is powerfull, vanilla, bourbon, oak, chocolate, cherry, coffee, roasted malt and alcohol really entertaining - Flavor is cherry chocolate, vanilla, oaky, dried fruits, alcohol, amazing - Full body, medium bitterness ( problably more, well hidden by the alcohol), flat carbonation, sweet and silky, long cherry chocolate finish - so good, the blend is well balanced, exciting beer really complex

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Smokes n Suds. A reassuring pop of the cork before pouring a very dark brown, thin brown cap. The nose is rich, bourbon and chocolate malt. Lightly sweet, but also oak and char. The taste is also rich, a little more emphasis on the bourbon and chocolate malt. Less smoke/char and a bit of bittersweet. Rounded edges. On the downside itís a bit thin... Finishes with a very soothing bourbon and chocolate note.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
375ml bottle. Black and pretty headless. Just a thin coating of brown foam. Bourbon hits the nose first. Lots of dark fruits in there. Vanilla too. Something like buttery, maple-drenched pancakes as well (guessing the brandy). Taste is pretty sweet (to be expected) and a step down from the aroma but still has a nice dark fruit complexity and some heat on the backend. This is worth its high rating.
