Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Bottle courtesy Douglass88. Pours a light cloudy amber orange with a thin white head. Malty brown sugar, citrus aroma. Taste is light malt, with a nice grapefruit bitterness. Nice smooth body, easy drinking with a touch of fruit in the finish.

Great beer. Cloudy orange body with floating specks of yeast, firm white head, very Belgian appearance. Nose of grass and malts and hops. Good palate. This has citrus notes, possibly from the hops, possibly from a touch of the nearly ubiquitous Lost Abbey Brett. Great hoppiness, far more than I would expect from a blond. A bonus point for so much flavor in a low alcohol beer, loss of a point for the price. Great bitter finish.

750ml bottle in Duvel glass. Clear pale copper orange with flat head and lace. sweet vanilla orangy spicy aroma. Mild honey orange fruity sweetness with medium bitter spicy dry finish. Medium-light body. Not much to this, it seems. Tastes a little like Duvel Green, which is to say that it is not especially flavorful. Good for the style, I guess, which is characteristically mild.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
On the bus to ZBF. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a nice, small, creamy, white head. Fine lacing. Aroma is malty, some yeast, a touch of alcohol, hay, grass, caramel, toffee. Medium carbonation, fair, lightly dry mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet, chewy malts, some orange-like tartness and a super hoppy balance. Very dry finish with a long lingering bitter touch.

Pours a slightly hazy golden. Moderately dense head which quickly settles. Smells of pear, peach and naturally yeast. Chewy mouth feel which is thick on the finish. Taste peppery, slightly sour some grapefruit, with mild bitter finish.

22oz bottle: poured golden yellow with about a one finger off white head. Fruity/hoppy aroma- very fragrant. Grassy and some citrus notes. The taste is quite nice with a peppery presence of hops and citrus, maybe a bit of pine notes. Mild bitter finish. Really a nice tasting, full bodied golden ale. Very nice.

Clear orange/gold color. Nice light fruit, sweet malt, candy sugar, grass, citrus, and some funkiness. Nice flavor profile, and easy to drink. Another good one from lost abbey.
