Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

750 ml bottle from Binnys (Orland Park, Il). My first lost abbey rating with a backlog from the haul that is now offered in the chicagoland. Pours a amberish hazy pour with small white head. Aromas are lightly estery, apples and banana, with belgian yeast, spiciness, and subtle sweetness. Initial is light, hoppy bitterness mixes with soft belgian yeast and sweetness, fruity apple and light banana, a touch of spice. Highly sessionable and delicate. Clean and crisp, but flavorful. A wonderful light happy fruity beer for the category.

Bottle from Santa. Pours a hazy golden-amber color with a medium creamy head that lasts a while. Lots of peach and citrus in the aroma, along with a hint of yeast and spice. Flavor is similar, but a touch lighter. A bit of bitterness on the finish. Highly carbonated, very active on the palate. Very nice.

Crushed with Jakebra. Lots of light fruity notes on the nose. Appearance is sexy, auburn, with floaties. Flavor isn’t quite as nice. A little yeasty and bitter, but the fruits are still there making this one pretty aight.

Hazy yellow. Funky tropical nose, pineapple and banana, touch of close? Dry and yeasty with a light fruity funk.
