Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Jan 24, 2009 0.75 l bottle at Konttori, Tampere. Hazy golden color with creamy long lasting head. Sweetish aroma with pineapple, grapefruit, coconut, herbal hops and restrained spiciness. Bittersweet gently spicy flavor with pineapple, grapefruit, herbal hops and clove. Very silky mouthfeel. Very pleasant and drinkable. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jan 23, 2009 750mL bottle, first bottling. Poured clear, brighter orange with a short cream colored head that didn’t stick around for too long. The aroma picked up a semi-sweet bouquet of lighter fruits laced with spicy yeast and a mild, rougher impression of oxidation.. nice overall. The flavor was sharper with more notes of oxidation joining some lemon zest and grassy notes.. the maltage stayed fairly simple and sufficient with pale and light fruits represented.. finished with more of the rough stuff and a sticky bitter impression. Medium-bodied with ample carbonation on the palate.. unfortunately this seemed to be a tad past its prime, and the degradation impeded the flow a bit. I’d love to try a fresh one. Swolf3 (252), Elkton, Maryland, USA Jan 21, 2009 Bottle Thanks to Hophead22. Poured golden with white head. Aroma of spice and slight hoppyness. A decent brew again by Lost Abbey. JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jan 16, 2009 Hazy golden color with a moderate light cream colored head. Very light aroma. Some herbals, and in the absence of much malt presence, a bit of vegetable (DMS) in the nose. Just a weak nose IMHO. A fairly weak start as well. Some dry malt and grains in the front that are joined by some light spice in the middle. Picks up a bit of hearty bread near the finish. Somewhat grainy and grassy in the linger. With further pours the yeast component grows, Not a complex thing, just more yeasty. Unfortunately I’m less than impressed with my last few bottles from this brewer. At $8 -$12 per bottle, I seem to be paying the price for the name more than the contents. Unfortunately I’m always hoping to find my next best brew. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jan 13, 2009 Updated: Jun 25, 2009Slightly hazy golden beer with a lasting white head, leaving lace. Elegant floral aroma with a citrus touch. Dry with citrus and herbal flavours.
On tap: More grassy feel, perfect, ever-lasting head. GMCC2181 (846), Bear, Delaware, USA Jan 12, 2009 Bottle shared by wolf at SL. Light orange in color, good head. Nice spicy aroma. Taste is spicey as well. A little hop aromal Sugary and grassy hops. Overall a nice belgian. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 11, 2009 Vanilla, lemon, grapefruit and pine notes with a round underlying honey-like malt sweetness in the aroma. Clear golden body is topped by a generous, foamy, dense, fine bubbled white head that lasts well and sticks to the sides of the glass. Herbal notes join the citrus and pine spiciness of the hop character in the flavour bitterness is pronounced and somewhat overshadows the malts. Perhaps a higher ABV would have added a counterpoint. Medium body with quite prickly carbonation over a slightly watery texture. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle from JohnC Jul-08. kevin62 (267), New Jersey, USA Jan 10, 2009 From a 750 ml bottle.poured a cloudy amber-yellow color with a small white head.Aromas were of hops and citrus, lemon and yeast. The taste also had citrus, sugar, malt and floral overtones .Decent one.
