Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Bottle from Santa. Pours a hazy golden-amber color with a medium creamy head that lasts a while. Lots of peach and citrus in the aroma, along with a hint of yeast and spice. Flavor is similar, but a touch lighter. A bit of bitterness on the finish. Highly carbonated, very active on the palate. Very nice.

Crushed with Jakebra. Lots of light fruity notes on the nose. Appearance is sexy, auburn, with floaties. Flavor isn’t quite as nice. A little yeasty and bitter, but the fruits are still there making this one pretty aight.

Hazy yellow. Funky tropical nose, pineapple and banana, touch of close? Dry and yeasty with a light fruity funk.

0.75 l bottle at Konttori, Tampere. Hazy golden color with creamy long lasting head. Sweetish aroma with pineapple, grapefruit, coconut, herbal hops and restrained spiciness. Bittersweet gently spicy flavor with pineapple, grapefruit, herbal hops and clove. Very silky mouthfeel. Very pleasant and drinkable.

750mL bottle, first bottling. Poured clear, brighter orange with a short cream colored head that didn’t stick around for too long. The aroma picked up a semi-sweet bouquet of lighter fruits laced with spicy yeast and a mild, rougher impression of oxidation.. nice overall. The flavor was sharper with more notes of oxidation joining some lemon zest and grassy notes.. the maltage stayed fairly simple and sufficient with pale and light fruits represented.. finished with more of the rough stuff and a sticky bitter impression. Medium-bodied with ample carbonation on the palate.. unfortunately this seemed to be a tad past its prime, and the degradation impeded the flow a bit. I’d love to try a fresh one.

Bottle Thanks to Hophead22. Poured golden with white head. Aroma of spice and slight hoppyness. A decent brew again by Lost Abbey.
