(w/ jerc) agl108 (503), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 10, 2008 750 mL bottle at World Cafe Live. Poured deep golden with a skim of white head. Mild lacing. Sweet, malty flavor with a nice hop presence. rustychiles (1000), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pours a golden hazy color with a nice white head. Big hop aroma, spices, yeasts and a little malt in the nose. Flavor is very hoppy, a fresh hoppy at that with some spiciness and a little malt and some yeastiness. I liked this one quite a bit. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 5, 2008 ~RBSG ’08~
On tap at Lost Abbey. Pours a clear golden sheen, creamy white head, and a nice film of lacing on the glass. Dry hopped feel, dry floral notes, hay and wheat in the nose. Big dry hop bite in the mouth, with lots of oaty malt, hay, wheat. Refreshing, crisp and easy to drink. Nik925 (300), California, USA Aug 4, 2008 Light and bubbly, with a definite metallic tone to it. Very crisp and somewhat dry. Seems like this was designed to be a showcase for the yeast flavors, which isn’t worth the spotlight. Solid, but I was disappointed. juiceisloose (636), Windermere, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2008 Pours a hazy, golden yellow color with foamy, off white head that settles to a thin film. The aroma is of citrus hops, citrus fruit, lemon zest, and some spices. The taste is much the same with the citrus fruit and hops up front with a touch of malt sweetness in the background. There is a good amount of spices in the finish. Medium bodied and easy drinking that leads to a spicy, bitter finish. Pretty straight forward and good for a hot summer day, but nothing overly exciting. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jul 30, 2008 Bottle from daknole. My first brew from Lost Abbey. Cloudy golden in color with a tan head. Aroma of light grass, malt, and yeast. Flavor is yeast with some floral hops. Flavor also contains a bit of an unexpected farmhouse taste. Not my favorite Belgian, but not bad.
