Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

From this Saints club. Fruity. Light. Bit of tart - or what some people will call apple. Some sweet as well. Balanced and enjoyable.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel apple/candied apple/whatever the hell you call the apple dipped in caramel, melon, very rich malt with hints of butterscotch and even molasses, hint of candi sugar. Flavor remains quite rich and sweet, though not syrupy at all, delicious caramelish malts with more fruits, including citrus, a hop bitterness kicks in at the end, leaving the mouth balanced and ready for more. Pretty creamy body for a Belgian, especially at the beginning, hops then dry it out a touch. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy light orange with a very small white head. Aroma of raisin, apple, pear, lots of fruits. Flavor is very similar--lots of fruits (grapes, apples, pears, melons, lemons, citrus) with a slightly hoppy finish (although not as hoppy as others have mentioned, but I’ve had this beer chilling in my fridge for a few months). Nice and drinkable. Very tasty!

Little bit of hops, little bit of fruit in the nose. Not a lot of either. Almost no head at all. Hazy apricot color. Flavor was way more hoppy and malty than Iexpected. Not at all fruity, even as it warmed up. Had more of a nice full lager flavor. It just tastes like a really good BEER.

Bomber. Hazy straw colored brew with a medium sized, firm white head. Nice yeasty aroma with a hint of barnyard. Mmmm, barn. Flavors are nicely spicy, earthy, lemons, and a good bit more I can’t put my finger on. It’s very well balanced and quite refreshing, while also being full of flavor. The finsh was a bit cloying, though. Good solid beer.

[1494-20080613] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Woody pine sap needles aroma. Murky, dark orange tan body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Woodsy hops and bitter flavour has pine and lemon notes. Medium body is dry and bitter. Nice, hoppy.
