Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Pale amber with a fleeting head. Good spicy, black pepper, yeasty and euro hop aroma. Medium body and smooth. Nice flavor starts with a touch of sweetness, then quickly turns to dusty pale malts and spicy dry hops to finish. Nice subtle flavors here, reminds me of the Carnevale.

Hazy dirty amber gold, big beige head. Aroma is quite yeasty with a nice floral element (violets?). Sweetly malty and yeasty with a floral/herbal hoppiness and a moderatley bitter finish. Very nice.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow with a very light off-white head. Small lacings. Moderate sweetness. Malty aromas of hay. Hoppy aromas of grass and citrus. Medium bodied with a slightly slick mouthfeel. Bitter finish.

Deep gold pour with decent white head. Light spice aroma with a hint of malt and citrus. Flavor has some grain, with a bit of yeast, spice and a bite of hops that seems out of place. Not sure what hop variety it is, but it really didn’t do it for me. That bitterness from it stuck throught the end.

A nice looking dark gold color with airy white head, aroma is malty with some definte funk to it (reminds me of some saisons i have had)...Hops are definetly noticable in the flavor, more so than most other beligan ales I have had...tons of carbonation on the palate...not a bad beer but far from my favorite

Bottle: Thanks to my cousin for bringing this to DLD. Poured a pale yellow with a small white head. Nose of funky lemongrass and pale malts with a bit that belgian yeast and spice to it. Smooth mouth feel leads to flavors of light malts, some floral and piney hops which were toned down a bit...light citrus and a bit of hay touch. Very good.

A- Pours a nice peachy orange with a thick frothy head that leaves tons of lacing. Looks very clear and filtered with tons of carbonation. S- Smells of Belgian yeast, spicy, apricot / orangey aroma with lingering indistinct fruits in the background. T- Tastes very wheaty and earthy with very noticeable hops however it is a lot blander than I was expecting. Nothing really stands out taste wise but it isn’t particularly bad either. M- Mouthfeel is fairly thin with lots of carbonation. D- This is very drinkable in that it goes down easy but it isnt one i’d have more than once if there were other choices.

Tap @ brewery. Warm golden color, not much lacing. Aromatic, perfumy hops. Nuanced with flowers, perfume, some soap, pear, plum. Slightly thin, quite quaffable, inviting quality.
