Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Golden pour, very little head to speak of. Slightly fruity nose with a dash of yeast. Lightly bitter, tart flavor. Dry finish. A well crafted beer, but not really to my liking.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a golden body with a thick white head. The aroma is full of spice and floral notes. The taste was quite dry, malty, and with a somewhat bitter finish. Some hops, but mostly a bunch of dry malt and spices. Pretty darn good.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of fruit, herbs, hops, and pine. Poured golden/orange/apple juice in color with a huge, dense, white head that lasted throughout. Very hazy. Full on tiny particles. Sparkling. Flavor is light to medium bitter. Tastes of grass, herbs, hops, and pine. Medium body. Chalky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Bitter hop and herb finish.

Cloudy soft milky white and yellow colored body. Strange must nose of wheat germ, vegetal sweet greens and some peppey spices. Soft, milky, silky texture and a pale wheat flavor with a bit of coriander and ginger-like spices. Pretty good overall, but a really strange beer.

Pours a hazy golden with a good sized head. Aroma of funk, some bread, and hops. Seemed to be quite a bit more bitter than I was expecting.

Oct. 2007 - Golden yellow pour, with one finger head and minimal lacing. Aroma of pepper and pearlike fruits. Flavor was initally dry, spicey/peppery. As it warmed, more sweet pear emerged, but still subdued sweetness from pearlike fruits with a strong pepper dryness. Syrupy mouthfeel, a bit overly sticky. Nice carbonation level. Good beer. Thanks to eaglefan538 for sharing.

750 ml bottle, good fruity funky nose but flavor is very soft and mild, crisp almost metallic finish doesn’t work too well, well put together but the flavor is less than you would expect
