Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Pours a foggy golden brown with minimal head. Nose is earthy and almost like a raw sugar. Nice level of smooth funk there. Flavor is nice and consistent. Nothing showy or strange, but mature in it’s profile and completely even. Feel is smooth with a higher level of carbonation. This is a very good belgian ale. If you have the chance to try it, I think you should.

Poured a cloudy red/brown color with a small white head. Aroma is mostly dominated by banana bread with a lot of carmel. Flavors are alot like the aroma. Strong, spicy banana bread with some earthy hops coming through in the finish.

750 ml bottle, from Patron Saints club delivery. Pours hazy light orangey amber with a huge fluffy off-white head. Fruity, bready, yeasty aroma, citrus, honey and clover, floral hops and herbs. Pleasant but mild flavor that become more pronounced as it warms, toasty, wheaty maltiness, orange notes, mild spice and a nice crisply bitter citric and floral hop finish. Light to medium body and fine, gentle carbonation. Easy drinking, enjoyable beer.

Bottle: Dark marmalade in color, very hazy, thick, large foamy off-white head, clumpy lacing.   Herbal/Floral aroma, slightly earthy, a little barnish and/or musty.   Somewhat weird as it has an herbally aspect to it I haven’t seen in any other beers.   Flavor comes across pretty much the same, low hop presense, with a majority of it being this earthy floral and herbal combination.   Slightly dry, very minor sweetness.   Seems to have a very minor astringent woodiness, maybe its weeds, like dandelion maybe?   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finish is a little astringent, weed like astringency.   Yeah, I would say this is like a floral/herbal earthy pale belgian, as it does have a bit of musty/barnish qualities.   However, it also has this really week Dandelion stalk like astringency.   Not bad, but pretty plain.   Probably my least liked Lost Abbey so far.

Bottle via trade with JCB (I think...). Aroma of orange rind, cut grass, soap and spicy and dry yeast. Pours hazy orange with a bright white head. Simple flavor of light malt with a lively dry yeast component. Creamy on the palate with fizzy carbonation. Decent, but unspectacular.

22oz Bomber - Gravity Room - Olympia, WA.
Aroma – Deep malty aroma with a huge Belgian yeast aroma.
Appearance – Hazy, Amber color with a thin head
Flavor – A great Belgian flavor with the malts ans spices and Belgian yeasts. Not too fruity and had a deep bready flavor
Palate – The bready flavor was also a breasy feel slick and dry in the finish.
Overall –This was a good Belgian to drik had some great character and flavors. I liked this Belgian more than others did not have a off Belgian flavor that most have.

Pours a cloudy blonde color with a medium white head. Very pleasant aroma of noble hops, yeast and spices. Very good flavor of noble hops, yeast and spices with a dry, bitter finish. The body is light to medium while the carbonation is moderate. This is a very good, refreshing, sharp, belgian ale, Tomme Arthur is a master.

Poured a hazy yellow orange tone. Nose was a bit musty, with a two finger foamy off white head. Flavor was yeast with quite a bit of spice and clove. Not a lot of flavor here, though. A bit bitter from the middle through the end. Just O.K.
