4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Capone’s. The pour is hazy deep golden with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of initial barnyardy funk, some dusty yeast esters, hopcitrus, apricot, and sweaty feet., The taste is pale malty, hoppy, with notes of orange zest, funky yeast, barnyard, and peach. The finish is on the dry end, with a great complexity. I’ll be side-by-siding this with Damnation in the near future.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at Port’s first anniversary celebration. Yellowish brew without much head, swet citurs aroma with some spice. Flavor is a typical belgain blonde, yeasty spicny and smooth. Finish has a little bit more hops than would you typical beglian. Very light and drinkable, but i feel bad sessioning anything with a cork.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle from Holiday Wine. Pours cloudy copper with a thin white head. Aromas of some light fruit and a good amount of spices, coriander comes to mind. Taste i some citrus, more spices, some yeast. More hoppy than I would’ve thought. Finish is dry. Medium body. Not bad, different from what I was thinking it would be.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle from my Secret Santa and shared at Columbus Tasting 8 - Pours amber with a slight white head that hangs on and laces. Aromas of green raisins, grapefruit, and a good amount of pale malt behind that. Flavors of green raisin, some citrus, pale malts, and a little spice before the citrus hops finish this off. This drinks very much like a good pale ale... Very easy to drink and quite tasty!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
An orange sweet smelling beer. However, i found it slightly off balanced and waay to hoppie for a belgian style. Did not fit well.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle procured by golubj. Poured a dark gold/light amber; fairly large frothy/creamy head. Aroma of citrus, orange, yeast and caramel malt. Great aroma, was somewhat let down by the taste. Not bad by any means, just nothing special. Overall wasn’t too hoppy, but for the style it was. Some light flavor of yeast and citrus; some spice to it, not sure what it was exactly.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2011 In short: Highly drinkable Belgian Ale with a fruity juicy body followed by a dry spicy/herbal finish.
How: Bottle 750ml, about 4 months old
The look: Partly cloudy golden body topped by a small but long-lasting white head
In long: Fruity nose of orange, citrus and spices. Taste is rather dry with dry honeyed malts, orange peels, pineapples, dry grass and some dried bananas. Generous hopping that is both fruity and dry with some strong white pepper notes. Not very yeasty at all for the style. Overall as refreshing and drinkable as a Pale Ale. Great stuff from this kick-ass brewery again. Who said that in this individualistic and materialistic era one couldn’t find great Devotions anymore.
