Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

22 oz bottle acquired by trade at DLD 09, shared with General66. Pours a dark golden color with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of hops and citrus. The taste however is very disappointing. Tastes of spring water and light hops, with no real backbone to the flavor. And to make matters worse, it is quite bitter too. Not good at all.

Bottle. Cloudy orangey/golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is rich and mildly spiced, and the flavour is spiced and very bitter at the finish. Overall a nice beer.

Sample from STLWill (Thanks!) Yellow pour, plenty of carbonation. Aroma was rose and very herbal. Flavor was also floral and bitter with a silky mouthfeel on the finish.

[Bottle] shared by STLWill. Pours a hazy gold with a medium, soapy, fluffy beige head. Aroma is very herbal, lots of lemon, and some caraway seeds. Flavor is lemony and herbal, smooth and light, with plenty of yeast character.

Bottle (75 cl) from Ölbutikken. Shady deep golden, medium white head. Malty and earthy aroma with fresh grassy green hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Dry and fairly bitter.

Fad: Pilsnergul øl med et fint skumhoved. Duften er egentlig ok, blomstret. Smagen derimod er et clash imellem humle og gær hvor det er smagsløgene der er taberen. Ikke særlig god øl.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange-golden, capped with a frothy white head. Aroma of malt, grass, hay, citrus, and earthy hops towards the finish. Flavor is mainly malt, grain and grass, with grapefruit, some spice and white pepper. Earth, citrus and metal linger on the palate. Finish is a bit too astringent for me.
