COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

On tap at Lost Abbey. Pours orange amber; thick head; nice lace. Hints of fruit (particularly oranges) on the nose. There are also hints of sweet malts in the background. Dry hops up front with a crisp finish. The fruit hinted at by the aroma comes through as well. This is a well balanced easy drinking Belgian ale.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow straw colour with a small off white head. Nose has lemon peel, hay, spices, Belgium yeast and candied sugar. Very appealing. Taste is nice balance of spicy belgium yeast and lemon peel/citrus. Good balance of fruit and yeast. Juicy mouth feel. Nice sweetness in the bitterness. Decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

this was the surprise hit of our san diego beer tasting...bright & cloudy straw yellow with fluffy white head. aroma pops right away...yeasty, with a hint of spice, peach, yeast and hops. diggin the tropical fruitiness in the flavor too. soft feel, like a hefe, with a nice, dry finish."

This is one gorgeous looking brew! A hazy deep golden-orange color with a huge fluffy off-white head that has a mind of its own. Velvety texture. Flavor is hoppy and dry but otherwise kinda bland. I kept hoping for more citrus notes or some of other dimension. Still tasty, but not superb.

Kinda woody, kinda cloudy, really tangie flat...but Ill accept for the style. Good dried fruit, I am guessing it needs time to come around...may be too young or not stored well.

Clear golden. Thin head. Toned down Orval with a more floral nose. Alcohol aftertaste.

This poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was of hay, grass, candy sugar, yeast, and lemon Peel.. Flavor was similar, a bit on the spicey side, lemony and sweet.

Strange but not bad, expected more spicy, sage and a weird lemon deal going on. Really really foamy. Guessing bottle conditioned and not stored correctly. Pretty expensive so I’d do it again if cheaper.

Tap at Roux Restaurant, Seattle. Pours a muddy orange brown with a white head. Belgian yeastiness aroma. Medium body, medium carbonation. Nice dry woodiness, orange, light candy, lemon... Slightly thin, but tasty.
