Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Slightly hazy, golden orange with a thin, quickly dissipating white head. Light grains, sweet mango, light honey, orange, apricot, yeast and some residual sugar. The body is smooth, but also fairly thin. Nice carbonation that is lively enough to make it’s presence felt without being too strong upon the tongue. The flavor starts sweet with nice depth and fluidly transforms into a healthy, but not overpowering bitterness. A lovely beer that appropriately closes out the summer.

On draught at Falling Rock Tap House in Denver. The beer is a hazy yellow color with a thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing. The aroma has herbal notes as well as yeast and hops. Medium body with flavors of yeast, grassy hops, lemon and malt. The finish is moderately spiced and crisp with citrus and honey in the aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Pours a clear golden hue with a lightly frothed white head. Aromas of citrus, flowers, a little grass, and light hop presence. Mouth feel is light bodied with flavors of apples, a hint of oak, subdued sweetness with a dry finish. Nice.

Cloudy orange, big white head. Very sweet, fruity aroma, like a bit of jam on toast, plus some caramel notes. Surprisingly quaffable. Mildly dryish at first then some fruity flavors, and toast, plus some peppery notes at the finish. Really tasty.

Pours a deep gold with a lively carbonation and nice fluffy lasting white head. Aroma is belgain yeast, light spice, phenolic, grassy, herbal hops and a nice doughy malt character. Fresh malt flavor- pale and pils, light sweetness gets dominated by the hops, and even some belgain phenolic yeastiness. Grassy, adn herbal hop finish- some cohumulone harshness. Relatively smooth overall. Not that great though.

Bottle. Pours a lightly hazy golden with nice white head. Aroma is hoppy and grassy. Flavor is malty, bready, yeasty, and faintly apricot. Pleasant and slightly peppery and hoppy finish. A refreshing and tasty offering from Lost Abbey, and one fairly easy to drink a bunch of unlike many of the others.
