Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Bottle from South Bay. Aroma is a little sour and dusty with some spiced dry peppery hop character. Fairly dry and grainy up front. A little Belgian yeast and dry hoppiness. Pretty full flavored yet subtle Belgian Ale.

Bottled. The aroma is very fruity-yeasty with apples, pineapple, melon, aprikots. hazy, yellow coloured with a lasting, off-white head. The taste is a bit sweet, fruity and yeasty. Well bodied beer. Very enjoyable.

Aroma is lightly spicey, with citrus, and a light hoppiness. Taste is much the same as the aroma, fairly hoppy for a belgian style.

Bottle purchased at BevMo: Oceanside. Golden with a nice firm white head. Flowery yeast aroma is quite pleasing. A mix of floral and earthiness in the flavor. Crisp refreshing palate. Good solid beer.

Belgian? Tastes more like a fresh American ale to me. Loud piney aromas of hops, with a dose of fruits in there somewhere. Lots of hop flavor without that much bitterness, which is not common these days. Toasty dry finish with lingering hop oils, Noble hops? Ah, what do I know. I liked it for what I would consider a "hoppy" beer.
