COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Tap at hops and pie. Cloudy blood orange with a frothy white head that lasts and laces. Aromas of citrus, lemon, yeast, and spice. Flavor is the same, light bodied with a dry end.

Draft pour. Incredibly over carbed. Poor bartender. Aroma of white bread and pepper. Taste is thin, peppery, slight funk and tartness. Easy drinking, but a bit plain.

Agree with tderoeck, spicy/fruitiness lends itself towards being a saison. Pours out a rich orange color with small, clingy, soapy head. Cinnamons, cloves, citrus all come through mildly in the aroma. More citrus peel in the taste, oranges, tangerines, and some dry spiciness. Belgian ale or saison, it’s pretty good stuff.

Pours hazy orange with a fairly large foamy white head. Aromas of citrus, lemongrass, melon, peach, hay, gooseberry, slight funk. Taste is citrus, melon, lemongrass, funk, gooseberry, slight esters. Mouthfeel is sprightly with high carbonation.

Fruity, peppery aroma. Not quite like a saison. Slightly fruity also. Think head though. Smooth beer with a creamy body. Finished with a hint of orange rind. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The color is that of golden straw, with about a good one finger thick foamy head atop a beer that has above average carbonation. The aroma is like a dry pilsner malt with a touch of beligum yeast and subtle nuances of fruity esters, pears seems about right. Balanced flavors of slightly dry malts, fruity esters. Somewhat thin mouthfeel dry tasting with bitterness well into the aftertaste. A well made beer that has a bit of a pilsner taste and aroma quality to it. Very drink worthy.

Hazy golden. Large frothy white head, lasting with lots of lacing. Very pleasant Belgian aroma, not too sweet or spiced. Likewise with flavor, not too sweet or spiced or fruity. Love the balance. Lighter medium body. Soft. Nice dry grassy finish. Well crafted. I really enjoyed this.
