COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Shared by yourefragile. Thanks Michael. The beer is hazy and straw yellow with a thick white head that coats the glass in lacing. The aroma offers funk, yeast, grass. Smells great. Nice and malty with a refreshing yeast character. Smooth feel on the palate. Solid.

From the corked, caged 25 ouncer. Hazy orange pour with a light, fluffy white head that breaks apart slowly and leaves a lot of lacing along the way. Aroma of overripe fruit, nectarine, pale malts, biscuit, and earth. The body is light to medium. Long lingering bitterness and fruitiness in the taste. Easy to drink.

At rockwell. Somewhat crisp for a belgian ale I thought. Fresh hops and refreshing flavor. Pale gold. Mildly belgian-y tasting in the yeastiness. Serving: tap

Mild apple and lemongrass nose. Very clear amber, medium lacy yellow head. Dry apple, light funk, mild twigs. Quaffable, light body. Nice subtleties, not boring, but just too weak.

Draft at Monk’s in Philly. Pours hazy peach with a huge white head. Aroma of grass, hay, citrus, hops and yeast. Taste is slightly hoppy with a nice balance of yeast and malts. Some lemon, grapefruit and pine notes as well. Really nice beer with a balanced hoppiness. Very drinkable.
