Seven San Diego sours in seven days...#1... Pours murk brown garnet. Pink head, rasberry aroma. Somewhat thick mouthfeel. Otherwise good sour background with rasberry after tones

Bottle in trade. Pours a cloudy ruby red. Aroma is full out raspberry and fruity. Some tartness in there too. Taste is tart, fruity, strong berry, yummy sour action going on. Tasty beer.

375ml bottle thanks to bytemesis, it was on my wants list. Pours muddy murky red brown with a finger of pink head. Nose is acidic sour vinegar, acetic, musty rotten fruit. Taste is overly sour acidic musty fruit, red vinegar. Finish is acid burn, nail polish, rotten berries. This bottle was terrible, unfortunately a drain pour.

Fra flaske, 375ml, Søernes Ølbar. Tyk rødbrun, næsten grødet tekstur, med et rødligt off-white skumhovede. Intens kirsebær-næse. Surt træ. Vin-aigre. Ret fyldig. Skarp. Ikke helt harmonisk.

Draughts at Lord Hobo (night before Zwanze 2013) and Publick House, 3/20/14
Bright red pour, good clarity and a small off white, cherry flesh-tinted head that shows moderate retention.
Raspberries, of course, in the nose are joined by a cedary note that I always associate with the raspberry seeds. Very light on the acetic acids for a sour brown, with streaks of oily leather, vegetal notes (again from the raspberries) and a good dose of vanilla. Some lightly sweet brown sugar and toffee notes linger, with more leather, horseblanket and prunes emerging as it warms. Nice and dry, but maybe so intensely sour as to turn off those who arent complete sourheads.
Flavor matches the nose quite well, with some lightly sweet pale malt sugars mixing with the dry, somewhat astringent raspberry seed-like flavors. Some sharpness from the acids and the malts are a bit scratchy but it softens and sweetens some on the end, thanks to the acetic acids and light brown malts. Wonderful rasberry flavor, very very authentic and well-attenuated with no syrupiness or residual sweetness. The raspberry flavor reminds me much of Rose de Gambrinus.

Échantillonné du Extreme beer fest 2014: Un succulent équilibre entre le déluge confituré et la flamme acétique et surette. Pas aussi raffiné que certaines belges spontanées mais extrêmement savoureux et balancé.

12.7 ounces corked and caged bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Hazy reddish-brown colour, moderate off-white head. INTENSE aroma of ripe and over-ripe raspberries, some spicy notes too. Strong sour / acidic flavour with loads of raspberries, also notes of lemons. If this is what you like, that’s what you get.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2014 Bottle from Brewsters Bar, LA. Nice deep raspberry red. Aroma is fruity. Tart raspberries on the nose. Taste is the same with a shot of tart acid, and yet nicely full bodied. Maltiness ensures nice complexity. Finish is tartness and dry woodiness. Definitely a great beer.

Muddled reddish brown pour with a pinkish head. Smell was like floor wax, raisins, and raspberry. Taste was like straight raspberry jam. Slightly sweet and just tart enough.
