375 ml bottle shared by jsprime. Hazy brown with an off white head. Big raspberry, sour, woody, funky nose. The flavour is near perfect. The fruit is not over done. Really a great sour. Thx Jeff.

Fobab 2013 Rate #8:
Pours a deep pink with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is funky and woody, it’s not especially fruity but it’s very inviting and pungent none the less... almost more lemony that raspberry-y

The flavor makes up for the lack of raspberry in the aroma, plenty of earthy seedy raspberry flavor offered, plenty dry & plenty tart. It’s got a nice sour character to it and drinks like a much lower abv than it is, I was surprised to see it @ 7%.

Very cool beer, one of the best I’ve had from Lost Abbey.

Vintage 2012. Picked it up at the brewery. Signed by Dominguez! Pours a rather murky chocolate cherry with a brown pink fuzz on top. Lots of tart raspberries, some must, barn, lemon and oak. Nice hint of vanilla as well. Flavor is oaky with plenty of fruit flavor and slight bitterness. Also has the aftertaste of a really rich raspberry truffle. Some bits of wood and vine. I like the flavor on this one quite a bit. Medium bodied with sharp, tight fleeting carb and a wet finish. Nice beer, probably one of the better I’ve had from the Abbey. 2012 bottle. Thanks Shane! A: Ruby with a thin, light brown head. Good lacing. Wish there was better head rentention, but some good bubbles floating in this one without it exploding on me. N: Raspberry and oak for miles. Touch of acetone. Sweet red wine grape. Some leather and tobacco. T: Sour hour - very puckering. Some residual sweetness. Tons of fruit and some pepper spice. M: Light with a hint of alcohol. Goes down about as well as you’d expect for such a sour bomb. O : Reminds me of Hommage, albeit not as intense with the fruit. One touch nose, but I love raspberry sour, so this gets a good mark from me.

November 26, 2013 - bottle via trade and opened on the wifey’s b-day. Removed the cork to a huge pop, so was relieved. This poured a nice opaque brown with big head that lasted and some lacing. Aroma was sour raspberries, yeast, some malt and touch of vinegar. Taste was very tart, lots of wood, raspberries and yeast. 2013 vintage.

2012 vintage 375mL bottle.Aroma has moderately strong raspberry notes but this is tempered by some toasted malt notes and hints of chocolate. Light caramel, toffee and oak notes as well. Pours brown with some ruby highlights. Tall moderately thick tan head with pretty good retention and moderately high lacing. Small legs.Flavor has moderately strong acidity with medium high raspberry jam notes. The malt notes are moderate and help differentiate this from a Framboise. Light toasted bread and chocolate notes with medium toffee and faint caramel. More of a raspberry candy than a very sour raspberry beer (though it is fairly sour). Light oak notes. Lingering acidity and jam in the finish with a hint of oak and toasted bread. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low acidic astringency and low alcohol warmth.Overall a pretty enjoyable sour beer but I like standard Framboise more. This reminds me of a Flanders style sour with raspberries added. Quite a bit of make complexity to balance the acidity and berry notes.
