Bottle at 13th Richmond Gathering, courtesy of MrChopin. Pours hazy ruby with an average, fizzy beige head, medium-short retention with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel), light hops (earthy), and average esters (berry) with notes of lactic sourness and raspberries. Flavor is heavy malt (bread, cookie, straw), light hops (earthy), and average esters (berry) with fairly heavy lactic sourness and raspberries. Medium body, low warmth and creaminess, and high carbonation with a dry finish. It is nice to see some Lost Abbey beers are carbonated.

Bov (9683) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 27, 2011
from erzbierschof.ch - cloudy reddish-brown in colour and with a persistent creamy head, nice lace; a solid aroma of wood and vanilla in the front and deep sourish raspberry notes below; very tasty and very carbonated, a robust sourness and a good malt body; the finish is quite dry with overwhelming woody and sourish notes, the raspberries staying again in the background; some warming alcohol notes - far too much wood presence here

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2012 Bottle @ home, courtesy of nightrider. Re-rate. Loved this last time around and am really looking forward to trying it again. Pours a deep maroon appearance with a big, fluffy pinkish cream head. Rich deep red fruity, moderate vinegar, somewhat cheesy, fairly acetic, moderate raspberry aroma. Interesting to have an oud bruin mixed with raspberries. Well carbonated, fairly bubbly mouth feel. Sweet, tart raspberry, tangy cheesy, moderate vinegar/acetic acid, fairly tart berry flavor. Acetic, raspberry finish. Really a pleasure to drink.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Murky brown ale with a large, fluffy, off-white/pinkish head. Nice fruity, raspberry bouquet - very acidic, a touch acetic and a smidge funky. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. The flavor is fruity and very tart with yeasty, aged hop bitterness. Lots of raspberries overlying some very nice funk. Tart, lightly bitter, drying finish. World class beer courtesy of giarcsr!
