mcberko (11949) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 5, 2012
375mL bottle, pours an opaque burgundy with a very large, slowly-dissipating pinkish beige head. Aroma is full of tart raspberries, maybe some other berries, wood, subtle vinegar / acetic notes, and yeast - seems quite dry. Flavour is extremely vinegary, with the tart raspberries being moderate with no sweetness, overshadowed by the acetic notes; also some oaky / woody notes and moderate a funky quality. Basically summarized as a very highly tart raspberry fruit beer coated in a highly acetic / vinegary quality. Very well-made and enjoyable in smaller portions.

bierkoning (11876) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - FEB 25, 2011
Corked bottle from bierkompass.de. Pinkish purple color. Oak, lemon and raspberry in the aroma. Dry and oaky flavor, sour with lemon and raspberry. Brett kicking in, some leathery notes. Good, comparable to a good sour framboise.

Bottle, bought @ Den Lille Vinkælder, Fredericia.
Pour is light muddy deep red with a fine, staying, frothy white-pink head. Heavy tart aroma, lots of raspberries, funkiness, red apples, milky, some barnyard. Very fresh and with some sweetness to the raspberries. Highish carbonation, good creamy palate even if the carbonation makes it a bit too frothy. Flavour is lovely tart, again lots of fresh raspberries. Astringent, heavy fruity sour in the centre. Some mild caramel in the base. Very lovely, sad that the carbonation is a bit too high for its own good.

BeerandBlues2 (11663) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 16, 2011
Bottle at 13th Richmond Gathering, courtesy of MrChopin. Pours hazy ruby with an average, fizzy beige head, medium-short retention with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel), light hops (earthy), and average esters (berry) with notes of lactic sourness and raspberries. Flavor is heavy malt (bread, cookie, straw), light hops (earthy), and average esters (berry) with fairly heavy lactic sourness and raspberries. Medium body, low warmth and creaminess, and high carbonation with a dry finish. It is nice to see some Lost Abbey beers are carbonated.

C&C 375 mL bottle courtesy of Bankhead. Thanks! Pours a slightly murky raspberry color with a medium tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of nice, fresh raspberries with a bit of a musty funky note. The taste is raspberry jam, sweet but with a tart mildly earthy note. Medium bodied. Tasty beer.

from erzbierschof.ch - cloudy reddish-brown in colour and with a persistent creamy head, nice lace; a solid aroma of wood and vanilla in the front and deep sourish raspberry notes below; very tasty and very carbonated, a robust sourness and a good malt body; the finish is quite dry with overwhelming woody and sourish notes, the raspberries staying again in the background; some warming alcohol notes - far too much wood presence here
