4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Itís been a couple weeks now since this showed up at my door. I had pondered holding both bottles for a while but aspidites insisted that I pull one so I could try it fresh and enjoy the dry hopping, heís never steered me wrong with anything beer related so what could I do?
The pour is murky and burnt copper in color with a persistent ivory head. The aroma is primarily malt and yeast with a sort of musty orange note. Bright hop character in the flavor with a nice brettiness not unlike a fresh Orval. I like where this is going...
The malt sweetness is very subdued and I refuse to believe the alcohol is 9.5 %, thereís only a touch in there. Everything seems to be balanced in this beer but its seems to be delicately balanced, if that makes any sense. If I were one to believe in tag lines for beer, Iíd call this one the chandelier of beers. Thereís also slight stone fruit notes. I donít get the scores on this one; I think itís awesome! To each their own, I guess. You canít argue with anyoneís palate.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy golden orange from the bomber with fluffy off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of big spice notes and Belgian esters over a hint of oxidized malts. Taste follows with less of the oxidation and more of the spice. Bubbly carbonation, booze is balanced, solid.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hazy amber under a thick light beige foamy head. Lovely Belgian Christmas ale tones of cranberries, figs, dates and a little piney citrus. Full palate with a keen orange peel and Belgian Amber malt, a wee touch of mulling spices and just the tiniest bit of red wine. Boozy belgish dusty malty fruity finish, and a light bretty funk throughout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is raisin, fruit, yeast. The appearance is deep, clear amber, off white head. The flavor is sweet, fruity, raisins, plum, yeast, pine The finish is yeast, chalky, spicy, light pine hops. Medium in body Nice overall, a tad weak on the aroma. Maybe because this was overaged.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml corked and caged, vintage stamped on neck, but itís smudged.
Aroma is fruity, raisin, honey, toffee, floral hops.
Flavor is sweet, raisin, fig, spicy hops. Alcohol is hidden well. Bought from the seasonal markdown shelf at Total Wine. Since it is a Christmas themed beer, and it was after Christmas, I got it for $3.99. Easily the best buy of the year so far.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This bottle has an abv of 12%. Pour is cloudy reddish amber with a slight white head and no lacing, nice unusual color. Aroma of raisin, plum, caramel, honey, and earth. Nice balance of flavors, fruity but not too sweet, has a medium noble hop bitterness, full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, lingering fruity finish. The alcohol is well hidden. Very good for the price ($9.99 at The Boulevard Liquor). The promo text/deScription on the bottle is kind of cheesy.
