Poured a lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of toffee, toasted dough, pils malt, honey, light spices, citrus, and yeast. Taste of earthy yeast, citrus fruits, white pepper, toasted dough, some spices, and a slightly alcoholic finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Joey. Pours out a yellow color with a white head on it. Smell is fruity and citrusy with a nice amount of hop flavors. Some yeast and bread on the nose too. Taste is similar to Duvel, lively body, sweet yet refreshing. Easy to drink. Not really a memorable effort. Better than something I could brew though. Pretty dry on the finish too. I am really reaching for something to say. I drank it cold, because when it got warm it seemingly fell apart. Best served out of the fridge.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, RBSG 2008 (provided by SDBruboy, I think). Somewhat hazy deep gold/light copper with a white head. Nice, rich grassy noble hop nose. The flavor has a pleasant sweetness level with notes of a malty pils base, grass, hay, lemon and some spicy Belgian yeast character. A mix of an amped-up pils and strong Belgian golden ale. The body is medium yet very round with lively carbonation. Nice beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pretty good, though not quite the Duvel clone I heard it was going to be. But that’s neither here nor there. Reminds me a lot of Damnation. Crisp, clean and that nice candi sugar/yeast combo taste that I simply love. Good beer. Hope this is one that stays in steady rotation.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. A clear medium golden color with a white foamy head. Crisp and spicy flavors with a peppery finish. The aroma is slightly grassy with pepper and a little dusty. Mildly sweet with somewhat earthy but well balanced with the candy sugars.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A very nice "lighter" strong ale. Reminiscent of a tripel but lacking the syrupy aftertaste. Think a nicely done "double" saison. Good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Disappointing pour when they go and compare this to Duvel, as the head only appears when you glug the thing out at a near vertical orientation. The last remnants of foam do stick around nearly permanently though. This beer is loaded with big, boozy, belgian malts, both in the flavor and the aroma, and is dominated by a brazen yeastiness and mild euro hop. At once easy and difficult to drink, there is a great, full body on this beer, with a short, clean, easy finish. Light florals come out with smaller sips while larger chugs just lead to a big, brutish body. This beer could be beer-bonged, though the bonger would regret it. Fittingly for a beer so confused, I both like it and hate it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle, corked and caged, from South Bay Drugs. Hazy orange tinged golden color with an ephemeral white head. Smells like a tripel on brett with cardamom. And a bit of candi. Medium bodied with lightly fizzy carbonation. It is more bitter than sweet - like bergamot. Extremely pleasant. Lightly earthy. Definitely dry. Moderately spicey. Ends up like bitter light stone fruit. Not strongly bitter. A really quaffable ale. Great taste.
