But you canít. Hell can be funny like that. Down here itís all just sin. Everyone here is screwed just like you. They donít care who you sliced, diced, or cheated. No on is escaping this heinous place. Your roommate is an ax murderer. Eerily, heís not threatening. How can he be? Here, the Fallen Angel owns your body, mind and soul. As such, no one can take your life. Itís already been taken. Or was it given? Neither matters. Did you seriously think you were living a virtuous life. At least Satan serves beer in Hell. He brews it himself right there in that flame stoked cauldron. Rumor has it the beer is straw yellow, bone dry and simply labeled Inferno.

Head on this beer climbed right out of the glass! Pepper, spice, and light tropical fruit on the nose. Bold flavors of orange, mango, belgian spice, and mild white pepper. Dry with a super clean finish.

A bottle is opened with a huge bang. A beer is fuzzy, beuatiful light yellow colour, a head is huge and white. Aroma has flowers, fresh fruitness, oranges, some raspberries, spicyness and pepper. Taste is strongly spicy, fruits, also lots of citrusfruits and some sourness, bitterness in the end. Medium bodied, easy to drink. The great beer, complex, aromatic fruitness and harsh spicyness.

Clearly a beer to be reckoned with, this fluid brewed by Satan himself. Iím always down for a good beer from hell, so here we go. The cork scares the hell out of my cat, who flies from the kitchen with the idea that something must be coming straight at her; Devilish! The beer sits patiently waiting for the pour, but once the bottle is tilted, but brew is overwhelmed with a gigantic, white, soapy foam. I rest the bottle and wait until I can finally get the rest of the liquid into my glass. Breathing in the aroma while I wait has me intrigued. I breathe in a bit of dough, spicy and tangy, with a bit of green apple, grassy; a bit of hops accent? The head finally releases and I get to taste this beer. The fluid is almost stinging my lips with the dryness, I fill all the deep places with my tongue and as the beer fills my mouth, I find a mirror of the aroma in the flavor. Rich, peppery, mildly sweet; the medium body is lively, the carbonation bright, but not awash in it. Sticky residue laces my glass, the foam definitely dedicated to the brew, but sitting dense and soft atop the honey hued liquid. A short, very comfortable finish, dry but an edge of stickiness on my lips. I do let this warm as Iím experiencing it, and I like it better at 60 degrees than I do at 55, at 55 more than 50...the entire experience is rapidly heightened with a slightly elevated temperature. Hmmm...sounds a little bit like heaven...and not so much hell! Damnit, poor Satan. Foiled again.

From the corked, caged 750 ml bottle. No date on the bottle. I have had it about two months. Hazy pale yellow pour with a tremendous fluffy white head. Too heady. The aroma has a great array of Belgian yeast, Belgian sugar, toasted biscuit, a little spice, and a berry-like fruitiness. Medium body. The taste has many of the same taste esters but it ends very dry.

Bottle. Pale yellow hazy. Spicy belgian citrus on nose. Quite fruity, oranges, yeloow fruity, even bananas(?), light lime citrus, coriandr, some ginger. Med bodied, well bittered. Fruity, fresh, belgy yeasty pale malty, some hay. Pretty nice belgian ... strong blonde? Flavourful, easy, im guessing the abv might be high, but doesnt feel like it.

750mL bottled 9/2013, drunk 2/2015.
Oddly enough, the cork shot off as soon as the cage was loosened, but then the beer didnít gush. Still resulted in a massive, thick, foamy white head that was slow to dissipate. Light blond/golden body is full of tight bubbles coarsing upwards.
Massively fruity esters in the nose (yellow fruits, strawberries, kiwi, pineapple....) give way to a bit of herbal hoppiness and a light dusting of white pepper and dry alcohol notes. A touch of bread-like maltiness can be discerned, but mostly this thing is just full-on fruity esters. Having had this a long time ago, probably closer to 2006 or so, I remember the nose being significantly less estery and much more herbal/peppery. Iím fairly certain this bottle sat warm/hot for too long, as there is dried beer below the cork where it has escaped obviously due to a strong refermentation. Fortunately, tons of esterification is the only downside of this and the beer still seems in good shape.
The flavor profile again speaks to the heavy fruitiness, with some definite alcohol undertones. Body is medium, sweetness is low and it reminds me a lot of Allagash Tripel. Very drinkable, quenching dryness and even some herbal/grassy hops thrown in for good measure. A delicious Belgian ale that seems much more Belgian than it does American. So that is nice.
