3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 WISEGUY572 (1373) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2012Initially pours a crystal clear gold with a huge firm white head, which leaves a truly awe inspiring degree of lacing. Later glasses are hazy, and then finally fully cloudy and without the initially brilliance, as the yeast at the bottom pours out. Nose of yeast, wheat, and hops, more than I would expect in a Belgian tripel or Belgian strong unless it came from California. Taste of, well, yeast, wheat, and enough hops to produce a smile without fighting with the Belgian strong type. Nice, works. Docked a point because, well, it’s easier to make a beer work this well with this much alcohol.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mnmike (606) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Tried this bottle with a coworker on a business trip to California. Not "belgian" enough for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DiarmaidBHK (2266) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle from Al’s of Hampden. 2011 vintage. Been resting in my fridge ever since. Pours golden with an inch of white foam that leaves trace lacing. Some bready yeastiness on the nose. A bit fruity on the tongue, but as the description alludes, bone dry otherwise. It wears it’s alcohol well without any alcohol burn. Solid!

Sweet, flowery aroma. Flavor is sweet and fruity, with some flowery bitterness, a little sour, and a fair amount of alcohol in the finish. Good, but not great.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 TEJA (1146) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 19, 2013
Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. Tried 130419, Best before 111231.
Big but short white head. Clowdy golden color. A bit of flowery perfume aroma, not strong but just right. Welvet smooth taste with small belgian phenols and sweetness and a finnishing balanced bitterness.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 Kroney (91) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 8, 2013
Pours light yellow with a huge soapy head. Sour aroma with strong yeast and alcohol tones. Flavor is similar, but flat. Not one of my favorites from Lost Abbey.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Benzai (4329) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2013
Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear light orange color, full sized creamy thick fairly dense white head. Smell malts, a slight sourness, fruityness of apricot and yeast. Taste lightly malts, fruits, orangepeel, alcohol, a slight sour touch and a bit yeasty. After a while some hops come through. Medium carbonation, full body.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DutchDrebus (2252) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2013
Bottle @ benzai. Slightly hazy yellow with a huge white head. Smells alcohol, sharp, malts, heavy, some apricot. Tastes malty, heavy, alcoholic, slightly fruity (apricot). Quite a lot of carbo (makes me burp), feels heavy. Amazingly heavy actually.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 Brain_Parasite (39) - California, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Pours a cloudy straw color, with a thick foamy white head. There is a spiciness in the aroma, but overall it has a mild aroma. Taste is sweet and spicy, interesting grape and lemon notes with bread as well. A solid beer, worth a try.
