COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Corruption, Greed, and Lust. They’re all represented on the hooks of today. Tomorrow, they’ll be stinging Gluttony, Desire, and Sloth. Go ahead. Tell yourself you’re better than all of them. But you can’t. Hell can be funny like that. Down here it’s all just sin. Everyone here is screwed just like you. They don’t care who you sliced, diced, or cheated. No on is escaping this heinous place. Your roommate is an ax murderer. Eerily, he’s not threatening. How can he be? Here, the Fallen Angel owns your body, mind and soul. As such, no one can take your life. It’s already been taken. Or was it given? Neither matters. Did you seriously think you were living a virtuous life. At least Satan serves beer in Hell. He brews it himself right there in that flame stoked cauldron. Rumor has it the beer is straw yellow, bone dry and simply labeled Inferno.

Initially pours a crystal clear gold with a huge firm white head, which leaves a truly awe inspiring degree of lacing. Later glasses are hazy, and then finally fully cloudy and without the initially brilliance, as the yeast at the bottom pours out. Nose of yeast, wheat, and hops, more than I would expect in a Belgian tripel or Belgian strong unless it came from California. Taste of, well, yeast, wheat, and enough hops to produce a smile without fighting with the Belgian strong type. Nice, works. Docked a point because, well, it’s easier to make a beer work this well with this much alcohol.

Yeasty, esters, herbal, brett, floral, alcohol, straw, spicy. Golden colour, big white head, lacing. Noticably bitter, yeasty, lightly sweet, lightly salty, lightly sour, Fullbodied, average carbonation, warming and yeasty finish.

@ Basunen 15-12-26: Tydlig belgisk doft och smak. Inte så tvålig. Ganska torr munnkänsla. Helt ok.

A 12.7 fl oz corked and caged bottle with no visible best before date and poured into a Duvel tulip glass. It poured a cloudy straw yellow colour. Despite pouring extremely carefully, there’s was a crazy huge five finger fluffy white head that has super retention but eventually leaves lots sticky clingy lacing on the glass. Aromas are of pear, apple with some lemon and a hint of banana and clove. Taste was much like the aromas, with pear, apple, white wine grape and lemon to start which then settles to some banana and clove. Finish had some light boozy alcohol feel to it. Dry, medium bodied with huge carbonation. Overall, an enjoyable solid Belgian Strong Pale Ale.

Bottle at home in a snifter. Pours a yellow-gold haze with a one finger head and some very mild lace. Aroma is orange and lemon zest, Belgian yeasts, some barn funk, hay loft, west grass. The taste is at first the orange and lemon zest with funk and hay, then the Belgian yeasts cut in and more funk with a hint of bubblegum at the finish. Dry and big carb. Well balanced. Aged pretty well. Nicely done.

Bottle to tulip Mango, yeast, esters, wheat, and grains. Hazy dark amber with a voluminous 2.5 cm frothy head that seems to slowly settle reasonably fast. The effervescence is abundant and lacing is low. Taste is wheat and yeast, with some light fruitiness and a bitter finish. On the palate, it’s medium light bodied with some chalk.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Cork shot off hard into my hand upon uncaging. Took a while to fully pour. Pours hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 3 finger dense and rocky off white head with insane retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, orange, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, wheat, honey, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, wheat, honey, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy/peppery yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, grape, pepper, clove, wheat, honey, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. High carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic Belgian strong pale ale style. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
