COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Corruption, Greed, and Lust. They’re all represented on the hooks of today. Tomorrow, they’ll be stinging Gluttony, Desire, and Sloth. Go ahead. Tell yourself you’re better than all of them. But you can’t. Hell can be funny like that. Down here it’s all just sin. Everyone here is screwed just like you. They don’t care who you sliced, diced, or cheated. No on is escaping this heinous place. Your roommate is an ax murderer. Eerily, he’s not threatening. How can he be? Here, the Fallen Angel owns your body, mind and soul. As such, no one can take your life. It’s already been taken. Or was it given? Neither matters. Did you seriously think you were living a virtuous life. At least Satan serves beer in Hell. He brews it himself right there in that flame stoked cauldron. Rumor has it the beer is straw yellow, bone dry and simply labeled Inferno.

Initially pours a crystal clear gold with a huge firm white head, which leaves a truly awe inspiring degree of lacing. Later glasses are hazy, and then finally fully cloudy and without the initially brilliance, as the yeast at the bottom pours out. Nose of yeast, wheat, and hops, more than I would expect in a Belgian tripel or Belgian strong unless it came from California. Taste of, well, yeast, wheat, and enough hops to produce a smile without fighting with the Belgian strong type. Nice, works. Docked a point because, well, it’s easier to make a beer work this well with this much alcohol.

Hazy straw pour, thick foamy head. Aroma is yeasty, light pale fruity. Pale malt. Flavour is zesty, lively carb, citrus and stone fruit. Biscuity malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma - fruity spicy Belgian style. Appearance - golden blonde. Palate - way too fizzy Taste - a bit hot and unbalanced. Not that impressive. There are better. Overall - way too carbonated. The cork exploded off the top with the sound of a gun blast.

dark yellow in color with a big head - obviously "well" carbonated. aroma is weaker than devotion, malty sweet and spicy with a hint of pepper, which i liked. warming, maybe even a touch hot. feel is too prickly due to the over-carbonation, but it almost works in this beer. flavor much like the aroma. not bad at all, but easily the weakest of the night for LA, and not quite worth the premium coin."

Pours cloudy apricot with a large frothy white head. Aromas of pear, apple, hay, stable, citrus, honey. Taste is quite fruity with pear and apple vying with earthy, musky notes and some nice herbal notes. Mouthfeel is very sprightly and lively wihile at the same time quite dry.

300th ratting- Bottle from Erzbierschof aged during 2 years in my cellar - Clear golden orange color with a decent frothy white head, small lasting and small lacing - Aroma is grainy, malty, dried apricot, dried raisin, spices and hints of alcohol - Flavor is nearly the same grainy, malty, fruity, dried raisin and kumkwat, spicy yeast, hints of earthy and flowery hops - Full body, fizzy carbonation, medium bitterness, dry, dry malty with a kick of alcohol finish - Pretty good beer, dryer than fresh version but the malt backbone show more character with the years, will try it again in two more years - yeast profile and hops seams to fade with the years

Alengrin (2186) - BELGIUM - AUG 20, 2014
One of the Lost Abbey beers, this one imitating the Belgian Duvel style, apparently. Off-white, irregular, sticky head, warm orange blonde colour with vivid sparkling, clear but misty after adding the deposit but keeping its warm orange hue. Powerfully fruity nose of pineapple, orange juice, apple peel, vanilla, ginger, banana liqueur, white wine, honey, pepper; overwhelmingly fruity taste with sharp, fresh citrus character and strong, mineral-like carbonation on a smooth and supple, caramelly and honeyishly malty basis, bit oily mouthfeel, spiciness evolving into a long, aromatic hop bitterness with hints of citrus and tonic water, complex and dry. Very American and very enjoyable take on a classic Belgian style.
