A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Nothing much disappoints from this brewery. Prune fig and dried fruit aroma. Mild malty evident. Great palate and aftertaste of sweet plums. Fantastic.

Prune and fig on a dusty brown pour with white poof head, sweet flavor with raisin and prune. Finishes a little thick not bad.

Bomber - pours a nice mahogany brown with a fluffy off white head that quickly dissipates. It smells of rich sweet malts, dark ripe fruit, a hint of baking spice and herbaceousness. A mouthful is layered with fig, prune, tart cherry, caramel like malts and a touch of earthiness. Like fall in a bottle.

On tap at the GA Chaper Room. Pours muddy brown, with a rocky, beige head. The nose is caramel, cloves, pecans, some light oak, and pine sap. Sweet and malty up front, with a good bit of hoppy bitterness, especially as it warms. Medium to heavy body, with a creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Lightly bitter aftertaste. This is a pretty nice dubbel, with good malt character, the hops are more aggressive than I’d like for the style.

A great dubbel from Lost Abbey, so far a good track record from this brewery. A malty, deeply fruity and sugary brew. Almost like a dark dessert wine on the palate due to the presence of heavy raisin and fig notes. The aftertaste is of a deep malt, yeast and alcohol with the candied taste lingering. Overall makes for a delicious combination that is definitely to be savored. An excellent example of the Belgian style of brewing and another fine selection from Lost Abbey.

Tap at the brewery. Pint glass. Deep amber color with minimal off white head. Aroma is muted but has some nutty, roasted aspects. Taste is heavy on malty sweetness with caramel and subtle dark fruits. Coats the mouth in sugars. Spices are present. Solid dubbel by a brewery that exceeded expectations. Try it.

FROTHINGSLOSH (6615) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 24, 2015
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a cloudy dark brown color with a medium sized foamy beige head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was malty, a bit toasty and had hints of caramel, root beer and dark fruits. The flavor was bitter, malty and toasty with caramel, wood, a bit of dark fruits and root beer. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.
