COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Five thousand years ago the Mayan Calendar last turned over. Since then, Nostradamus, The Book of Revelations and random Shaman have all prognosticated that mankind would meet a fateful end. Currently, our demise is scheduled for December 21, 2012 for it has been so decreed our world is about to end not in a Christian Judgment Day but rather a Mayan Apocalypse. Funny thing is, the Mayans don’t actually believe in the concept of an Apocalypse. We at The Lost Abbey didn’t want to miss an opportunity to update our original Judgment Day recipe to accompany us as we collide towards this impending Rapture. Like us, we’re pretty sure you can believe in dried Chiles, Cinnamon and Tamarind working well together in this beer. This means you can count on this little bottle of beer to help you survive this cultural Armageddon. Please pop the cork and enjoy this version. We’ve got you covered. See you on December 22nd wherever life may take us.

Bottle at the John=Jim Den Haag tasting, Den Haag. Poured a dark brown colour with a thick frothy off white head. The aroma is dry with some hoppy notes. The flavour is strong bitter and alcoholic. The palate is a little too bitter. The alcoholic bitterness is starting to dominate which doesn’t appeal to me.

Bottle shared. Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, chillies, malt, spice. Flavour is over moderate sweet and bitter. Medium to full bodied with too much carbonation. A little chilli burn in the finish.

Bottle shared by kermis @ Jim is John tasting. Dark brown to black color, medium sized light brown head. Smells like a Belgian double. Taste is disappointing as well, malts, pepper, leaves, overripe fruits. Overcarbonated, medium body. Not a good quadrupel by any means.

Bottle @ ABC Beers Jim=John tasting. Brown pour, thin off-white head. Aroma of bready yeast, spices, dark fruits, some alcohol and licorice. Flavor is warming alcohol, spicy, roasty, sweet Belgian dubbel with extra alcohol. Quite boring and a bit too much alcohol. Loads of carbonation.

Pours a very dark brown with a massive light beige head. Aroma of yeast, earth, spices. The chili and cinnamon is definitely there, can’t find the tamarind however. Taste is lightly bitter before turning into a heavy sweet-sour and then into a heavy alcohol finish that lingers forever. Body is medium, creamy, but with maybe a tad too much carbonation for my liking. Ending mouthfeel slightly too sweet and sticky as well.

Botella. Really been looking forward tasting this one. Hazy deep brown red colour, nice beige head. Sweet malty fruity caramel spiced aroma. Good mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, fruity, malt and caramel, spiced, some alcohol, well balanced.

Flaska från Systembolaget . Spännande är ju bara förnamnet men detta är en ovanligt lyckad hybrid. Både mustig och frisk men ändå bra bett i beska och eftersmak ! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
