3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mcberko (4056) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 22, 2012
Sampled on tap at PIB, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma of light brett, horse blanket and some citrus zest. Flavour of light brett, yeast, and light citrus zest. Very smooth and well-refined, but missing something to make it stand out. Not a huge brett-bomb. Very good, but not mind-blowing like so many Lost Abbey beers.

24 karat pour with tightly packed ivory head and honey at its core. Lemon, funk, fruit, socks, earthy/grassy qualities along with grapefruit pith and dust. Lots of citrus oil but dry and dirty. Funky, tart, and light. Enjoyable but expected more. Been wanting to try this for a while. A bit better than, well, meh.

Sampled on 7/7/2012. This wild ale pours a light yellow color from a 350ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, lightly funky, bretty and dry. A medium bodied wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal. Nice carbonation. A touch sweet, a touch tart and a little funky. Nice balance. Not all that funky, yet, but it has that nice dry bretty finish. Still fairly young, but I am not sure if this one will funk up with some age. Just going to have to age a few bottles and find out I guess. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 talon1117 (1152) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 20, 2012
The pour is a hazy, orangey, honey color with a white fizzy head which is completely diminishing and leaves no lace. The nose is very bready, tart lemons and lychee, musty, toasty, and a faint chamomile. The flavor is similar, tart lemons, light lychee, chamomile, light vanilla, and faint toast. The palate is medium, lively, silky, and drying only slightly. The finish is fairly quick with vanilla, lemon, and chamomile. Fairly disappointing from LA and more typical of NB. Really nothing bad to say but just fairly boring and uninspiring brett beer.

37.5 cl bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light spiced hoppy. Dry and toasted malty. Yeasty, light citric and crisp hoppy. Dry and light toasted malty finish.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 19, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2012 Bottle… Murky yellow ale with a miniscule, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose offers lemon, bread, cereal grains and wheat underscored by a lightly spicy clove phenol and an odd celery component. Medium bodied with lifeless carbonation. The flavor leans sweet, coughing up notes of honey, pale grains and breadiness. Not at all balanced. Finishes sweet, grainy and fairly coarse. I don’t like this one much and the New Belgium version (Lips of Faith - Brett Beer) isn’t any better. I scored that one a 2.7.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PhillyCraft (1975) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 18, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2012 Bottle, got this guy in the mail a few hours before drinking it. The movement really got the brett juices flowing. Poured a hazy light gold with fizzy clear white head. Ample carbonation. Notes of sour apples, brett, crisp dried fruit, barn, and light wheat. We all enjoyed this beer, underrated in my book.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NobleSquirrel (3286) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Bottle from Binny’s Marcey. Darker orange than the NB cousin. Big frothy head. The nose shows a lot of tropical fruit and a strong guava taste to them. Quite fresh. Earthy and citrusy hops as well. On tasting, it is drying and earthy, fresh fruit, faint guava. Minimal tartness. Dusty and fun overall. There is an odd savory note that seems strange, I believe it is yeast derived. Interesting for sure, will be interested to see if it develops any more in the future.

Draught at Port Brewing/Lost Abbey. Hazy, yellow liquid with small to medium white head. Aroma of fruity funk, barnyard, wheat and belgo yeast. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of fruity and barnyardy funk. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Drinkable and funky.
