375ml bottle. Pours a hazy light golden color with a nice thick white head. Aroma of mild wheat, citrus, and funky belgian yeast. Taste is wheat, wet grass, lemon, a touch of yeasty bread, clove and banana.

375ml bottle, bottled 5/24/2012, from Old Philly Ale House. Pours mostly clear golden yellow with thin white head that dissapates fairly quickly. Aroma of pineapple, tropical fruits, citrus and wheat. Taste is of yeast, wheat, bread and some slight citrus. Taste is more sweet and yeasty than sour/tart. It’s a nice beer, but was hoping for more sour/tart notes from the Brett. It’s more like a Belgian saison than a sour/wild ale. Was hoping for a little more from this one...it’s enjoyable but I feel it could have been so much more.

Traded bottle about a year old based on the May 2012 bottle stamp. Hazy orange pour with some light sediment and a small white head with tight bubbles. Aroma is light but some brett and sweetness in there; really reminds me of a saison or Belgian ale. Brett in the flavor but it honestly tastes watered down. Light bitterness in the finish. This one falls a little flat for me.

Bottled 5/24/12 recently purchased. Cork opened without any pop and the pour has a dark golden color and a thin coat of off white head that fell right away. Aroma has dusty yeast, old crusty hops, straw, light fruit, and some minerals. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation medium. Flavor has plenty of brett, sweet banana, straw, some funky vegetables, wheat, dough, and muted hops. The brett does not seem to be doing special things here meanwhile the base beer is falling off in flavor.

Clear straw colored beer with a thick white head. Aroma is earthy, and dusty with light pineapple fruit notes. Dry and crisp, some earthy brett and herbal flavors. Some mineral notes in the finish.

Received this earlier this year from Doppelbockulus in a great trade... Thanks Charley!! Pours dark golden... looks like apple juice and the light carbonation and nearly nonexistent head solidifies that image. Nose is grainy with the brett showing only as some light lemon and dusty/grassy notes... really fruity and sweet with warmth. Flavor is pretty much the same with an underlying sorta fruity sweetness... apple and perhaps apricot. Very light carbonation ... bubbles only really show on the tongue. Just not very good. Seems like a BSPA with only the lightest Brett character.

JCB (3801) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Bottle from Haberstam’s, Savannah, GA. Fairly soft pour, translucent gold with a medium silky head and nice lacing. Nose was very modest, with slight perfumey notes and graceful fruit, along with very humble brett. Nicely full mouthfeel, just a bit prickly too. Very, very low-gear wild ale, though, with all the characteristics of a slightly under-attenuated golden that’s got the mildest of brett additions. Very little funk or tartness, nothing at all acetic happening on the palate, kind of weird and disappointing overall.

12.7 oz corked and caged bottle purchased at Joy Wine and Spirits in Denver, Colorado. Stored wine fridge 55 degrees since purchase, tasted side by side with the New Belgium Brett Beer. The pour is clear golden yellow with a smallish white head. The aroma is really funky, though not necessarily a soft inviting funkiness. The nose is a bit oily, dirty, and has pepper and a mild vegetal aspect. The taste is leather, funk, citrus pineapple floral, then the oily and pepper notes from the nose. The palate medium bodied with soft to low carbonation, and a lingering dirty funk finish.

Pours to a glowing golden body that becomes murky near the bottom of the bottle. A rapidly dissipating white head sits on top. Aroma of pineapple, straw, and light funk. Flavor is like a muddled orval with straw and pineapple. More yeasts too. When drinking while eating pineapple, the fruitiness drops out and showcases the malt and coriander. Rich medium bodied palate has a robust texture.

ROGUE (1566) - Newark, Delaware, USA - FEB 28, 2013
375ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a finger of creamy white head that recedes to a thin collar. Aroma has loads of brett, with banana fruitiness, orange rind, and some very mild funk. Taste is mildly funky, no tartness, banana and clove, some bread, and underlying sweet malt. Medium bodied, smooth, nice carbonation. Very easy to drink.
