Bottle. Sooo stoked to see this beer recreated. A pizza port classic. Lovely aroma of lemon zest, biscuit and orange. Color is hazy light gold with lacy white head. Flavor follows the aroma well with similar chatacter. Lots of yeast, earthy and biscuit character. Soft on the palate with a light sourness.

Bottled May 2012. Yellow color with small head. Aroma is bretty, cucumbers and a bit more vegetables. Taste is fresh and vegetables, moderate sour finish. Not exactly the best sour ale, but easy to drink.

Very disappointing. Some fruit in the smell and a lot of water in the taste. some sourness combined with a lot of boringness.

This is a cloudy yellow-orange beer that pours with a rapidly disappearing white head. There are zesty citrus and spicy fruity notes with a creamy mouthfeel and a dry vanilla finish.

12.7oz/375ml bottle from Erzbierschof. It’s a sour ale as you would a sour ale expect to look and taste and feel and it is well-balanced, but there’s also nothing in it that would make you praise it as exceptional.

From notes. Tasted some time near the summer of 2012 from a corked and caged 375mL bottle. Pours cloudy light orange with an average white head that leaves thin lace. The nose is funky brett with peach, apricot, and orange with some light bread malt. The flavor is a touch sweet with the bread malt up front, moving to the nicely bitter, spicy, and nutty brett funk. The body is full with average, stinging carbonation and a long funky brett and lightly nutty finish.

Seems like age has really ironed out the bretta here because there isn’t more bretta and it certainly isn’t betta than other types. This vintage from 2012. Finishes with light sweetness, and not much bretta. Some florals, some sweet malt. Really just like a regular light Belgian ale. Bottle pour at Churchkey’s 5th anniversary.

Bottle at S&G tasting. Bottled 24/05/2012. APPEARANCE: clouded blond beer, small unstable white head. NOSE: brett, little sour, little hoppy. TASTE: brett, somewhat lactic, weird taste, decent though.

"A little more standard fruity yeasty belgian and a little less wild/sour than i was hoping for. if i remove the price from the equation, it’s a really nice beer, for for a refreshing lightly dry and tart belgian ale, a buck an ounce is a but much."

02.09.2014, 0,375l bottle @ home:
Nice slightly fizzy mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of strange fruity, yeast, flowers, honey cake, hay, grain, rubber, weeds, caramel, almonds. Taste is slightly sweet fruity, hay, grain, flowers, honey cake, weeds, almond essence, yeast, caramel. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and watery mouthfeel. So disappointing! Nothing sour or bretty about this one...

Poured from a 12 oz. corked bottle into a harpoon tulip glass. The color is a hazy orange with a finger and a half of foamy white head that is quickly gone before the first sip. The smell is funky but not too sour. There is some banana aroma mixed with a touch of Belgian candy sugars. The grainy aroma that is detectable in the nose and reminds me of a triple but not as sweet. The taste is sweet but not sour, and wild sourness seems to have been missed in this bottle. What I’m left here is a tasty Belgian-like beer without the carbonation and not much in the way of brett flavor. The is some fig flavor and some slight bubblegum flavor mixed in with a grainy flavor that is nice but is not as exciting as expected. The feel of this beer is smooth with a nice drinkable feel. It goes down easy and has a medium to light body.
