Commercial Description:
Ne Goeien is Flemish for "A Good One." We’d like to think this beer is exactly that. When we invited Hildegard Van Ostaden from Urthel to come brew with us at Port Brewing, we hoped the collaboration of our brewers and her passion for brewing would result in one fine beer. A simple Saison styled beer with firm bitterness is all she requested. From the beginning, it was easy to imagine this beer as Ne Goeien all the way.

750 ml bottle - pours straw gold with slight haze; white head settles down leaving lots of lacing; aromas are seductively mild - lemons, orange peels, grass; light bodied and flavor starts mild, but starts to ramp up just like the aromas; dry, lemony finish; honey, grass and wheat; very mild funk and pretty tasty overall; texture quite different when compared to most LA beers

Bottle shared by BrianK, thanks BK. Pours a cloudy yellow pale body with a spicy, pepped yeasty aroma. No etoh here simply masked by the portfolio of spices coming off this beer. Citrus, pine, Cinnamon, lemon, bread, and some chalky vanilla.

This was slightly hazy and golden in color that poured a thick had of very fine bubbles. Aromas were of flowers, light citrus and spice, yeast, herbalness and a touch of sweet bubblegum at the end. In the mouth it is medium-bodied, smooth and qutie well-balanced with a lingering finish. The balance and smoothness really makes this one quite enjoyable.

Pours a pale hazy gold/orange with a one or two finger frothy white head. The aroma is earthy, spicy, has some lemongrass, peppery, yeasty, gets more funky. The flavor was spicy, crisp, citrusy peel, grassy herbal hops, lemongrass, nice mustyness. The palate is nice and citrusy.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of yeast, spices, a ton of white pepper, herbs, citrus, and floral hops. Poured yellow/flax/peach in color with a medium-sized, rocky, pillowy, white head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of white pepper, yeast, fruit, citrus, and a hint of vanilla. Medium body. Lightly chalky, thinish texture. Soft to average carbonation. Semi-dry pepper and yeast finish.

750ml bottle shared courtesy of egajdzis. Poured a medium and lighltly hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of white pepper (lots of pepper), citrus, floral, lemon peels, and fruity. Tastes of the same pepperiness, citrus, fruity, and some breadiness. Lively body.

Thanks to egajdzis for sharing this one. Pours a miky golden/yellow with a medium bubbly white head that left spotty lacing. Aroma of this wonderful floral, orange peel, light Saison spiciness, hints of some funkiness, fresh hops, tropical fruits, pepper and sweet maltiness. Flavor was hoppier than I was expecting, bready, peppery, tons of citrus, light grapefruit, moderate hop bitterness. Very well done!
