COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ne Goeien is Flemish for "A Good One." We’d like to think this beer is exactly that. When we invited Hildegard Van Ostaden from Urthel to come brew with us at Port Brewing, we hoped the collaboration of our brewers and her passion for brewing would result in one fine beer. A simple Saison styled beer with firm bitterness is all she requested. From the beginning, it was easy to imagine this beer as Ne Goeien all the way.

Bottle at Lost Abbey’s awesome RBSG tasting. Also bought a bottle. Yellow color. Big mixed bubble off-white head. Classic saison aroma. Nice citrus fruit bitterness. Easy to drink.

Bottle @ RBSG during the RBSG crazy $10 tasting. Pours gold with a bright white 1 finger head. Nose is sweet and yeasty and fresh. Taste is sweet dry and tart and nice.

toncatcher (228) - Santee - SAN DIEGO, California, USA - AUG 3, 2008
Sampled a the Brewery during RBSG. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. This was a different tyrp of saison, no pepper, no spice. I would say it’s a classic saison.

Tasted at brewery for RBSG. Slightly hazy golden yellow with a fizzy white head. Floral rose, lavender, and fruit aroma. Bright palate. Honey, lavender and mild grain taste.

Sampled at the brewery during RBSG 2008. Well a ’simple’ saison it is . hazy yellow pour with a white head, yeasty aroma, mild fruity flavor.

750ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a 2 finger off white head that left great lacing. At first this beer was a bit to bitter and sour. As it warmed and I got used to its flavor, it rivals some of the better Saison’s I’ve ever tried. Lemon peel, herbal hops and Belgian yeast on the nose. Finish was yeasty with a hefty hop bitterness.

Bottle, sampled @ the brewery. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a frothy white head. Aroma is grassy notes with lemon and detectable sour notes as well. Taste is the same, with a slight snap of hop bitterness at the end. I love saisons, and this is a winner.

Sample at Flagstaff AZ Made In The Shade Beer Festival. Pours a hazy orangeish yellow with a fluffy white head. This brew has a Sour funky lemony grassy smell. Flavor is a touch of sourness, with some grassy and lemony taste and a little bitterness in the finish. Another winner from Lost Abbey.
