COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ne Goeien is Flemish for "A Good One." We’d like to think this beer is exactly that. When we invited Hildegard Van Ostaden from Urthel to come brew with us at Port Brewing, we hoped the collaboration of our brewers and her passion for brewing would result in one fine beer. A simple Saison styled beer with firm bitterness is all she requested. From the beginning, it was easy to imagine this beer as Ne Goeien all the way.

Bottle at Lost Abbey RBSG. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeasts, some funk and light colored fruits. Taste was mostly fruity with spices and citrus. The mouthfeel was full and malty. Finished dry and just a touch sour. Overall: A better than average saison, must score a few bottles.

Bottle sampled at the RBSG. Thanks to the Lost Abbey crew for bringing a simple tasting saison in to the beer scene. Very refreshing and very tasty. Would love to sit this one down on a hot summer night and just chill.

Pours a lightly hazy gold orange, with a small off white head. Smells a little funky, with a decent amount of orange citrus, and other spices. The flavor is lightly bitter, with a good dose of that funk and citrus mixed. Good spice character was evident as well, with doses of coriander and a touch of black pepper. Very nice drinking saison. Not ground breaking, but Id certainly drink it again. Also, might be nice with some age on it as well.

Bottle @ RBSG during the RBSG crazy $10 tasting. Pours gold with a bright white 1 finger head. Nose is sweet and yeasty and fresh. Taste is sweet dry and tart and nice.

Sampled a the Brewery during RBSG. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. This was a different tyrp of saison, no pepper, no spice. I would say it’s a classic saison.

Sampled at the brewery during RBSG 2008. Well a ’simple’ saison it is . hazy yellow pour with a white head, yeasty aroma, mild fruity flavor.

750ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a 2 finger off white head that left great lacing. At first this beer was a bit to bitter and sour. As it warmed and I got used to its flavor, it rivals some of the better Saison’s I’ve ever tried. Lemon peel, herbal hops and Belgian yeast on the nose. Finish was yeasty with a hefty hop bitterness.
