COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Farmhouse Ale traces its roots to the small rustic breweries of Southern Belgium. The word Saison comes to us from the French language and it means Season. Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select inspired locations.

Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

My favorite saison; one of the few beers I buy more than once. Cloudy yellow pour with a long-lasting white head. Mouthfeel is considerable, and surprisingly not as carbonated. Flavor is Belgian-style malty, with sweetness and spiciness perfectly balanced. And that's what makes this beer beautiful. If you want, you can pick out the individual flavor components, but I prefer to let their synergistic melody take over in what to me is an epic saison. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Zitronig-hefiger Start mit Anklängen von Muskat. malzig-süßlicher Verlauf mit moderater Säure bis in Abgang. Ok.

Pours golden yellow with moderate white frothy top. Aroma is yeasty, straw grains with a small farmy in the backend. Taste is bready grains, slight yeast and the want for more farmy and wet blanket but am left yearning.

Flavor is sagey and piney to me on tap, though there are hints of the pepper and grains, nice saison yeast finish.

Bottle- pours cloudy golden, frothy bright white head head with lacing on the glass. Wheat, ginger, Farmhouse yeast, lemon and wheatgrass on the nose. Bread malts, wheat, citrus hop and saison yeast tartness definitely help this beer feel lighter and tart on the finish. This is how farmhouse Saisons should be. Nice Summer beer for a warm day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Churchkey for CBC. Poured a clear, dark orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some orange notes, some grain, touch of spices. Flavor was orange peel, pepper, some other spices. Pretty good.

On tap at Lost Abbey Brewery. Clear pale orange-amber pour. Generous head with nice lacing. Aroma is heavy on spicy ginger with a blast of orange. There are sweet malts in the background. Orange peel up front with a lively peppery finish. Aftertaste is a blast of hoppy bitterness. Easy drinking despite the spice.

Bottle sample. Hazy yellow color with a rocky white head. Funky fruity aroma with some barnyard notes, spicy hops and pepper. Sweetish bread flavors, slight tartness, low bitterness and oranges. Effervescent, light-med body, spritzy and quote fun.

Poured from bottle into a trappist glass, the aroma is nice with the yeast and citrus prominent, color is hazy yellow/orange, thin head with nice lacing, the taste is citrus, bitter, something almost medicinal, the alcohol is heavy on the back end
