This Farmhouse Ale traces its roots to the small rustic breweries of Southern Belgium. The word Saison comes to us from the French language and it means Season. Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select inspired locations.

Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

This poured a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma was of yeast, lemon, light spice. Flavor was lightly tangy but not acidic, cracked wheat and earthy.

Flaska ölföreningen 2014. Smak och doft av humle, jäst, jord, örter med toner av ingefära. Frisk och fruktig, torr, sträv, beska med toner av grapefrukt och citrusskal. En fin saison.

Rating #888 for this beer! An oldie here, bottled 1/4/12, corked and caged. Nose honey and light alcohol, touch of maple/pancake syrup; orange peel and malt. Clear, rich golden pour with a little red in it, abundant and consistent carbonation, soapy beige head. Little bit airy, just mega honey, taste lightly sweet but dries out to bone dry, light bitterness, herbal with rosemary and light lilac, some black pepper, not tart at all at this point. Extremely quenching, touch of yeasty-bready character in the finish and dry aftertaste, touch oily, touch of roses showing, medium body, alcohol. This has held up very well and would be a lovely summer drink at any point in history.

Shared bottle (75cl) @ William K Helsinki Sörnäinen. Pours clear amber. White head. The sweetness close like honey starts the game. Earthy tones follow nicely. Quite ok but not great to my liking.

"hazy golden color with a cloudy white head. aroma is nice...a little barnyard, citrus & yeast. prickly feel that softens in the back...nice for the style. makes me gassy, though. flavor is intense for such a "light" beer. fruity with a hint of lemon and spices, a touch of funk, and some hops in the back with a dry yeasty finish. i’d go back for more if this were in 4 or 6 packs...probably won’t get a 750 too often, though."
