COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Farmhouse Ale traces its roots to the small rustic breweries of Southern Belgium. The word Saison comes to us from the French language and it means Season. Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select inspired locations.

Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

Pours a fairly hazy dark golden color with a moderate white head on there. Nose has some wheat on there and hay, and only seems a bit sour. Only a slight bit of funk. Taste is quite sour with some nice farmhouse elements. Pretty drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Trinity. Pours gold with a thick white head. Glad to see LA beers are just as overcarbed on draft. Aroma is spice, funk, grass, must. Taste is dry, tart, sweet, musty, funk. Hints of bubblegum. Pretty complex, but easy drinking. Finishes dry and earthy.

On draft at Capone’s Lost Abbey event, where I got to enjoy it with the brewer himself seated at our table! Nice butterscotch-colored pour with a little lace. A hoppy, funky, complex saison. Flavor of brett, and a little pepper and spice.
