3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BHeart (72) - - JUN 10, 2012An incredible, refreshing, evolving brew. Pours golden, with a touch of darker ipa amber coloring. Aroma is yeasty and citrusy, perhaps grapefruit. Smooth and sweet on the palate, light and refreshing, transitioning into a yeast Belgian flavor, before a delicate, gradual, herby finish.

$6+ big corked bottle from Costco?! Thanks for the Ed’s note. I remember loving SPF45 years ago and I’m really happy it’s back. And with a huge distribution. Did I mention this is some good shit? ARE YOU LISTENING? A totally american saison, in that you don’t have to search around for the flavor; that’s it there, hitting you over the head. I can taste all the named spices(ginger, black pepper, etc) plus a lovely dry lactic yeasty note, a little malt sweetness and some lingering hop flavor. Three thumbs up. Oops, that was supposed to be a secret.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Zer0 (81) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 8, 2013
750 ml bottle at home. Pours cloudy golden with a large long lasting head. Aroma of dried fruit, dades, and spicy yeast. Taste is complex, some citrus, yeast, spicy, floral, bread and a bit woody. Medium body high carbonation. Nice!
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1534) - Michigan, USA - MAY 19, 2013
750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/21/2012. Pours hazy golden amber color with a nice 2-3 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, grape, ginger, grains of paradise, orange zest, clove, pepper, herbal, honey, light funk, and earthy yeast esters. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of spices and yeast esters with moderate malt presence. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, grape, grains of paradise, ginger, clove, pepper, orange peel, honey, bread, light funk, and earthy yeast esters. Lingering notes of light fruits, ginger, grains of paradise, clove, pepper, honey, orange peel, and earthy yeast esters on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of spices and yeast esters; with moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a crisp, lightly slick, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent saison! All around great balance and complexity of spices and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JStax (1724) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAY 12, 2013
750 ml bottle thanks to robloc303. Pours a hazy gold with a white head of foam. Aroma is yeasty and a little funky. Tastes of zesty yeast esters and citrus. I’m a little let down that the funky note detected doesn’t come through in the taste at all.

Pours very hazy yellow. Reminds me of melted butter. Nice lacing. Aroma of apples, grapes, and pineapple. Taste is similar with and tons of yeast. refreshing and easy to drink.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 OKplus (549) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 9, 2013
A - Massive 3 finger white head very slowly sinks and leaves impressive chunks of lacing behind. Hazy golden orange in color.
S - Spicy yeast jumps right out, acidic fruit, white grapes, pears, green apples, bright fruity alcohol. Earthy grass aromas come out as it warms
T - Bright tart fruits - white grapes, granny smith apples, lemons, and pears. Dry straw, peppery spices, rich wheat malt, fresh ginger and grapefruit peel comes out heavy on the end as well as some herbal bitterness. Finishes very dry and peppery.
M - Medium bodied, soft and smooth texture with moderate carbonation.
Fruit and spice, and yeast in holy matrimony! Excellent flavors, great spice profile, very tart and dry. Very complex Saison that I thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended.

Slightly hazy, light golden color with a thin white head. Earthy, moldy hay bail nose. Full-bodied, pillowy mouthfeel. Nearly mouth puckering. Very earthy and bar air in the flavors. Not my cup of tea, but saison’s generally aren’t.
