This Farmhouse Ale traces its roots to the small rustic breweries of Southern Belgium. The word Saison comes to us from the French language and it means Season. Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select inspired locations.

Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

An incredible, refreshing, evolving brew. Pours golden, with a touch of darker ipa amber coloring. Aroma is yeasty and citrusy, perhaps grapefruit. Smooth and sweet on the palate, light and refreshing, transitioning into a yeast Belgian flavor, before a delicate, gradual, herby finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

That bocktown monaca is a good beer tasting place, continuously rotating taps. Slightly hazy pale yellow. Smell is slight phenolic and yeasty. Fairly mild with a sudden bitter sharp almost bandaid thing. Barely any co2. A little difficult fer shure. Pointed astringent developing thang. Not as well balanced as was expected. Yes, mild at first then it goes a little outtah control.

Bottled 750ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Murky orange coloured, medium sized creamy white to off-white head, mild spicy nose. Lively carbonation. Sweet malty, yeasty, spicy and fruity with pretty strong hop bitterness. Pleasant spicy, mild alcoholic and bitter citrusy hoppy finish. Nice one.

Slightly cloudy yellow pour with large white head. Aroma of lemons, orange peels, pepper, ginger, yeast and hay,. Taste of lemony citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, slight ginger and a faint peppery dry finish. Light bodied, higher carbonation, nice and crisp and refreshing.

Tap. Pours hazy butterscotch, medium white creamy head, good lacing. Aroma is grains of paradise, clove, grass, herbal, pepper, coriander. Flavor is heavy spiced, lots of grains of paradise. This would be a great beer to give somebody who does not know what GOP are, clove notes prominent as well.

A really nice saison. On draft, even better from the bottle in my (vague) recollection. Cloudy yellow orange in appearance, a shade darker than the average. Smell is lemon, citrus rind. Taste is more lemon, cracker, plus peppery notes and some Belgian-style yeast strains. Refreshing and dry, onlyba hint of honey-like sweetness, more spiced than average. Not quite Dupont, but excellent.

Bottle. Smells amazing, a bit of a orange, grapefruit, and lemons. Taste great, something that I can drink over and over. A bit of a grapefruit peel aftertaste but not too overpowering.
