Commercial Description:
This Farmhouse Ale traces its roots to the small rustic breweries of Southern Belgium. The word Saison comes to us from the French language and it means Season. Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select inspired locations.

Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with a dusty barnyard note. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit - especially peaces, combined with notes of spices, leading to a dry spicy end.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy amber. Buttery malt aroma. Sweetish with soft, relaxed malt character with some careful grassy hops on top of it. Medium bodied Mild and pleasant. A good, unassaulting beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Very unclear yellowish golden with an off-white head. Aroma of yeast and spices - chamomile? Medium body, starts with some malt sweetness which is quickly relieved by a dry, somewhat chemical bitterness with some phenols. Spicy flavours - perhaps a whiff of ginger. Very bitter finish. I’m not sure I understand the hype surrounding Saisons. Courtesy of sk8viking. 080307

Hazy dull beige. Thick head. Yeasty, duponty nose. Very yeasty. Some dust, malt-accented. Not especially mindblowing, didn’t capture my imagination.

Bottle. Clear golden coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of citrus and spices with light acidic notes. Fruity flavour of bananas, citrus, spices and hops. Hoppy and spicy finish.
