dhlesq (233), Thousand Oaks, California, USA Dec 3, 2006 Aroma of yeast, cobwebs, clove, orange. Appears a hazy golden yellow, with a large rocky white head, and with noticeable effervescence of large bubbles. Flavor is somewhat sweet, but also tart, with bread-like flavors up frontt hat give way to peppery spices, and that finish assertively bitter; as the beer warms the peppery flavors become more and more dominant Palate is moderate with light but noticeable effervescence. Overall, a fine saison.
BillKismet (1410), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 2, 2008 Fills an orange goblet with its lovely viscosity. Plush cream head. Peppered aroma initiates contact with the nose. Flavor has an easy black pepper and lightly touched ginger complexity. drfabulous (712), Columbia, Missouri, USA Aug 31, 2008 Really nice spicy aroma. Like a Wit but with far more flavor floating around there in your nose. Lots of fruit and a bit of the wild flavor. Pepper, orange, citrus. Little tart/sour to it. Very well done. mwelsh13 (140), Maryland, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle split between two pints poured a nice golden yellow with a fluffy white head. Great carbonation. Apples, cider, and yeast in the aroma. Good amount of pepper and spice in the initial taste. Very sweet after a dry beginning. Carbonation cuts through the sweetness. Tart finish. radiomgb (1761), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 28, 2008 Golden-orange in colour with a long lasting white coloured head, good lacing. The aroma is bready, lemon citrus, orange peel, pepper and other spices. The flavour has all of the spices of the aroma, yeasty, light alcohol. Spicy mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes very spicy, long.
The spice in this becomes too much at times. Heavy on the alcohol as well, drinks like a 10% beer.
750ml bottle obtained in a trade with sprinkle, thanks Mike.
Opened on March 28, 2008.
No date.
