Inspired by crisp white wines, Saison Blanc features New Zealand hops, golden raisins and white pepper for a decidedly bright, spicy, and robust low ABV beer. Finished with Brettanomyces at packaging, this beer will evolve for many more years to come.

Pretty cool beer with nice interesting bretty character. Herbal and lightly medicinal brett character on top of spices and oaky vinous character.

375ml bottle pours a pale golden color without much head. Wonderful fruity belgian yeast aroma. Fruity flavors and some mild hoppiness that lingers on into an orange peel bitterness at the end.

Bottle at craft ale house. Pours clear orange with a medium sized white head, decent retention. The aroma has plenty of Saison yeast, lemon, pepper, some funk, almost a wine note. The taste is very dry, peppery, some lemon notes. The Brett has made this quite funky and enjoyable.

375ml bottle from Malloy’s (Lisle, IL). Always see this and mean to get it, never do. Finally picked it up. Pours a well carbonated golden oranage hue. A fair haziness in the body, lively bubbles and big offwhite head cakes large, sticks big and messy, lacing well. Good stick around as a firm layer, takes a long time to die down. Nice orange gold glow, some straw, gentle honey glow. Aromas show some yeasty life, flaked wheat and straw meet gentle honey, dry earthy spice, yeasty drive. Some gentle honey, apple and mellow melon. A touch of dough, but more dry than you’d expect, subtle white pepper, spice and faint herbal waft. Gentle fruity element plays second fiddle, sticks back. Initial is still fairly dry, well carbonated and a bit spicy, firmer yeast and dryness tickle the palate. Straw, gentle honey, white grape and raisin. Some touches of dryness, grainy malts dry out quickly. A touch herbal, faint suntan lotion as some mellow white pepper, cracked wheat, spiciness keep hitting. Middle is a bit more dry, still a lighter feel for the body. Gentle fermented honey, spicy yeast and white pepper. Dry straw, gentle dough and melon. Lively carbonation really keeps this even more dry, spicy as the elements work together. Backend is spiciness, farmhouse yeast, touches of herbal and earthy dryness, character meld into more bready and grainy malts, with lingering honey, subtle grape character hanging on. Spicy, well carbonated, but not overdone or sweet. A firm dryness and spice really dominate and a pretty pour, driving and sustained head and lacing make it look quite nice. Solid, a change of pace, and a bit different and more Saison like (as opposed to sweeter Golden Belgian) than I expected it to be. A more fruity nose as it settles, but still the dry and spicy character sets the pace over some of the sweeter ellements, faint tartness at times from the white raisins. Nice.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with very thin white head and maybe a spot or two of lace on the glass. Nose of hay, white grape, some brett, pepper, and booze. Medium body. This tasted hot for such a low abv. Dry finish.

Bottle pours cloudy gold with quickly dissipating white head. Aromas of bread, raisins, pepper, cloves, straw. Light sweetness. Moderately bitter. LIght crispness over medium body. A little bit astringent.
