The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Wow. Near black pour with dark tan head. The aroma is perfect. Vanilla and dark chocolate. Taste is smooth sweet vanilla, a bit of bitter dark chocolate and a bit of alcohol. Great beer.

Bottle. Pours a near black color with a fairly thick light brown head on there. Nose is nice and full with chocolate, roasty, and Belgian yeast notes to it. Taste is a bit sweet up front and has a dark roasty thick finish. Super smooth.

Bottle from 2009. Looks really, really good. Beer in the glass deep black, oily, almost no head. Heavy malty aroma. Starts intense malty, roasty, oily, notes of coffee and some liquorice. Finish with bitter background. Warming-malty. Strong, but not alcoholic. Really good beer!

Bottle at Beer Ditch. Pours black with red hues and dark brown head. Aroma is pretty vinous with some alcohol. Not that much more. Taste focuses on dark chocolate and the roasted malt, slightly vinous, well balanced bitterness and well balanced all in all. Full body, soft carbonation, smooth.
Solid Imperial Stout.

Poured from a 25 oz bomber into a tulip on 05.31.14. A: 3 finger bubbly tan head which recedes quickly. Midnight black body with no red. S: Cocoa powder, dark fruit, and licorice. T: Fig, chocolate, raisin, cherry, and cinnamon toast dominate. Woodiness and a cabernet sauvignon quality are more subtle. M: Creamy. Very chewy. O: This was very complex and rich. There was some alcohol burn on the back end. The woodiness was not overwhelming. This was an excellent stout.

Vintage Bottle, probably about 2 years old. Pours a dark brown with a nice thick mocha tan head. Molasses, caramel, and roast notes in the nose. Heavy mouthfeel. Very roasty! Thick and chewy. Sweet notes upfront but then the roast takes over leaving a lingering strong coffee like bitterness in the mouth. Feel the warmth from the 11%. Tasty but not for the faint.
