COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Dry dark fruit aromatics that suggest...ta da..dried fruits. Slightly soapy scrubbed plastic notes as well. Some chocolate and boozy alcohol as well. The body od dark brown to near black with ruby highlights and holds a thin mocha colored head that is somewhat lasting. Tastes of stewed root veggies, cocoa powder, dust and astringent/roasted malts. The finish is fairly bitter.

Wow! 2010 version on draft at falling rock in Denver! Solid black with thin tan foam. Coffee, chocolate, and depth dominate this beer!

750 mL bottle shared with Jason. The pour is a viscous black with a dark tan head and no lace to be left. The aroma is incredibly roasty. There are some light vanilla and licorice notes, and it's really well balanced. Everything you could hope for in an imperial stout. The flavor is just as good. There is a malt complexity that I wasn't expecting. It blends roasted malts with a good bitter chocolate and a nice licorice. There is a light booze heat on the back end to let you know it's 11%. The mouth feel is a touch thin. The carbonation isn't what I was hoping for, but it does remain clinging to the mouth for a bit. The aftertaste is nice and roasty with a subtle dark chocolate that comes back on the back end. Not bad at all ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

8th May 2015: in a flight of six at the excellent Brewhouse, San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, Black with a tanned top. Smoky, bitter coffee aroma and taste: hides the alcohol well with it’s heavy coffee flavour. Impressed.

Vanilla coffee in aroma. Flavor of coffee without the harsh bitterness associated with coffee. Malt sweetness balanced out coffee perfectly. Finished equally as balanced.

On draft at Federal Taphouse in Harrisburg PA. Great find and great beer. Aroma of roast coffee, appearance is frothy dark brown head and black as coal. Taste is complex and balanced and hides the alcohol very well. Super long chocolate and coffee finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at the Lost Abbey, San Marcos, CA. Black colour with a small tan head. Coffee, roasted malt, vanilla and sweetness in the aroma. The flavour is coffee, vanilla, sweetness, roasted malt and some hoppy notes. Too much coffee for me. Creamy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Nice appearance. Highly boozy nose, but not objectionable. Smooth, malty, very, very nice. Would easily get again.
