COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Faint hints of grass and cotton candy in the aroma- like going to the county fair. Deep raven-black appearance; opaque blackness from whence my soul shall be lifted nevermore. Carmel-brown head that dissipates but leaves serpentine lacing that lingers long like the guilt of sins past. Oh, but the taste! Thick, rich, malty wickedness with hints of coffee, licorice, and maybe even the forbidden fruit! Toasted marshmallow lingers long. Medium body; somewhat sweet and alluring, but the eternal struggle between good and evil is present in the devilish dance of bitterness and malty sweetness. At 11%, not really sessionable, but to hell with caution! The serpent delivers! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours opaque jet black with a sticky, brown, mashed-potato head. Nose is coffee, molasses, dates, figs, port wine, and vanilla; amazing. A huge punch of sweet coffee and dark fruit on the tongue; plum, prune, date, fig. Vanilla and fig round it out, along with an astonishingly smooth mouth feel. Almost perfect.

No head, pitch black. Big chocolate with some plum notes, roasty and coffee notes too, bit alcocholic. Medium carbonation. Oily and smooth on tongue.

Butelka. Piwo jest czarne nawet podczas przelewania. Gęste fajnie rozpływa się w szkle, niczym olej silnikowy. Piana to jakaś przesada. Jebitna, brązowa, piękna. Aromat bardzo kakaowy i czekoladowy. Czuć trochę dobrego espresso i paloności, w głębi lekko dają o sobie znać suszone owoce.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2016 From XXXII. In Naparbier glass, at Carlo?s house. Great, but the difference with a samuel smith imperial stout doesnt compensate the difference in price (price: 15?) Alcohol very well hidden, be careful

W ustach fajna, olista kobsystencja, nieco puszyste, czuc goryczke niewysoka w odbiorze, pocieszne wrazenie z wytrawnoscia - zaleznie od momentu wydaje sie bardziej slodkawe albo wrecz odwrotnie - w strone wytrawnosci. Klasa piwo. Mimo, ze bez beczki - pod wrazeniem :) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lots of roasty grain on the nose. Taste is more deep-roasted grain, some dark chocolate and a little bit of dark roasted coffee. Is quite bitter for a serious stout, which makes it very drinkable. Excellent.

On tap at Brunzies. Big nose on this, sweet with alcohol, chocolate, and lots of licorice (Sen-Sen). Dark black opaque with lacing tan head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation, alcohol warming. Starts sweet with Sen-Sen - a licorice bomb with chocolate and coffee. Big alcohol flavor and warming. Medium bitter finish with bit sweet licorice bitter after.

man, i love lost abbey stuff, this was no disappointment. serpents is a base stout for all of their variants. aroma is bitter coffee. pours pitch black with a khaki head, big head. oily mouthfeel, not quite bcbs , but along those lines. some soy, rounded coffee, liquorice , just yummy.... reminds me of speedway but better. love this one, recommended for the real stout drinkers. enjoy. no bitter aftertaste, rounded and well balanced.
