COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Aroma is full of chocolate and coffee, very good. Less chocolate than it smells with a hint of alcohol, amazing beer.

On tap @ Bambino’s. Pours thick inky brownish black with heavily lacy mocha colored head. Aroma is big dark chocolate, with boozy notes of port and bourbon. Taste is super dark charred malts, sharp hops to balance the sweetness, lingering notes of leather, oak, and a bit of raisins. Lingering dry oaky port flavors on the finish. Incredibly heavy mouthfeel, quite boozy - easily taste the 10%. Maybe lacking the barrel-aged character of similar beers, but otherwise this is a massive imperial stout. Another winner from Lost Abbey.

Bottle. Pours black in color with a brown head. Roasted malts, hazelnut and chocolate in aroma. Quite delicious. Roasted coffee, dark fruits and vanilla with hints of sweetness in taste. Smooth and tasty.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium creamy tan head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate. Thick mouthfeel with roast, chocolate, and light dry finish. Very good.

Black, no head. Coffee and caramel aroma, roasted too. Flavour is similar, bitter chocolate and licorice. Good bitterness, soft, relatively light mouthfeel.

Bottle, 11.0%. Not much aroma to speak of. Black colour. Big unstable frothy dark brown head. The flavour is sweet, roasted, jammy with a creamy and bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable dark tan head. Clear aroma of coffee, roasted malt and caramel. Sweetish onset of caramel malt, with bitter and roasty notes and touches of coffee. Well-pronounced notes of liquorice. Lingering, roasty and sweetish aftertaste. Well-balanced and good.

Black pour with a tan head. Big roasty aromas. Coffee, roasted barley, and burnt chocolate abound. Flavor is dry with big roasted characteristics. Way drier than I would have liked. Decent but nowhere near as complex or good as I was hoping for.

Bottle. Pours ink black with a huge deep brown bubbly head. Aroma of hard roasted malt, coffee and a bit of vanilla. Taste is like aroma but with added notes of dark fruits, chocolate, licorice and hops. Sweet with a bitter and salty aftertaste. Absolutely full bodied with very little carbonation. Really good...although there’s a bit too much salty licorice in the aftertaste for my liking. Still, pretty good - only one glass in and I’m already singing. :-)

Bottle @ Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade. Pours deep brown, almost black with slight hues. Amazing dark foamy head. Aromas of loads of dark fruits, chocolate, toffee, earth. Pretty boozy taste with dark malt, chocolate, toffee, coffee and slight tartness.
