COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

A good strong stout. Lots of chocolate and coffee flavors. I think it would have done better with a little less alcohol as there is a bit too much of a booze flavor.

0.75 bottle. Pours black, with small, brownish head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, molasses. Taste is moderately sweet, with well marked bitterness. Balanced, with perfectly hidden (but pleasantly warming) alcohol. Oily texture, low carbonation.

Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, rich cocoa, chocolate cake, mocha, touch of liquorice, and lots of creamy coffee in the aftertaste. Flavour is medium sweet with some good roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is full, smooth and a bit creamy. Pretty easy drinker considering the abv. Fine balance, excellent Imperial Stout!

750ml bottle. Pours black with a creamy tan head. A bit pricey but well worth it even though there are some other impy stouts out there as good or better at a lower price (hello Yeti). This is friggin delicous though. Complex notes of espresso, licorice and maybe even a hint of bourbon though not really boozy as would be expected for an 11% abv.

Can someone tell me why this California brewery (& it’s partner Port) have their beers for sale in Washington but not in Oregon--the beers have to come through here? Happy to see this beer at the Oregon brewer’s festival. Think I’m posting this review on the right version--11% abv, but according to the program part aged in bourbon barrels. yum yum. dark beer with dark head.Aromas of molasses, alcohol, dark rye.Flavors of roasted malt, coffee, brown sugar & oak. so smooth, a little slick. Thank you.
