COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’d like you to know that we’ve taken some inspiration from the wine world for this blend. We have one oak barrel that was a sour base beer with Cabernet Franc grapes. We also stole a barrel of Brandy Angel’s Share that was earmarked for the next Angel’s Share Grand Cru. Lastly we blended in a barrel of Red Wine French Oak barrel aged Gift of the Magi with a smooth oak bretty backbone to complete the blend.

The beer is meant to be consumed and treated like a red wine. We expect there will be little to no bubbles. The oak presence is quite strong and the beer certainly will develop into a much rounder ale with some time in the cellar. Not all our beers are designed to be consumed early in their life. We took a chance with this one that more time would be a benefit to the blend. We expect those who have the patience to wait will be rewarded

Sinners 10 from rusty at rbwg 3/5/11 Dead flat. Dirty bronze color. Big sweet barrel aroma mixed with peppery oak, raisins, sour malt, red wine and caramel. It tastes like a beer went rotten… old dark raisins, bad red wine, vinous tartness and spiciness.lots of umami/savory. It tastes like it is too blended. .. they tried to save it or too many cooks type of thing. Flat texture. Meh. 6/4/6/2.5/14

375 ml bottle. Pours a murky, dull amber-brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma of lemony, citric sourness, oak, herbs, earth, lactic acid, and balsamic vinegar. The flavor has more dimension to the sourness, with brown sugar, grapes, vanilla, lemon, earth, wood, almost-ripe plums, and lactic acid. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sour, dry, earthy mouthfeel. Excellent. Definitely exceeded expectations.

Bottle split with and courtesy of Pat. Pours a deep brownish body with a thick, muddy haze. No head, no carbonation. Aroma is sweet raspberries and cherries, chocolate, and a sharp wine. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of tart cherries, wine, molasses, toffee, and a bit of caramel and chocolate. A very interesting sour, but just a touch too sweet for my personal preference.
