Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lancing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, oak, whisky - bourbon, alcoholc, moderate heavy raisin - plum. vanilla notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. Very very nice ;O))

Light unclear dark brown color with a small, open and fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, raisin, prunes, date, alcohol - bourbon. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, dark malt, dried fruity. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. As asumed very very nice ;o)

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2013 Bottle. Papsoes MadsBerg homecoming blindtasting, bottle #15. Pours hazy dark brown with a lacing tan head. Solid barrel and roasted malt aroma, quite dark and almost black. Flavour is solid bourbon barrel-ish, roasted malt and dark fruits. Mild vanilla note too. Holds quite some sweetness. Light orange fruity and citric note too. Dense chocolate smooth malt. Light fruity touch towards the finish. Ends smooth, roasted and with a mild and slowly declining barrel vanilla finish.
Cask at GBBF 2013, 13.6% version. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is thick malty, chocolate and bourbon smooth. Thick caramelish malty and sweet. Toffee and light alcohol presence. Bitter and dark roasted malty finish.

Bottled. A murky dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of over ripe fruits and prunes, medium notes of malt, and lighter notes of chocolate, alcohol, bourbon, and vanilla. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, alcohol, caramel, wood, vanilla, and bourbon. The alcohol leaves a burn on the palate.

Dark brown coloured with a medium sized lacing beige head.
Sweet aroma of wood, vanilla, dried fruits and bourbon whisky with roasted notes and notes of chocolate.
Sweet and roasted flavour of wood, vanilla and dried fruits with notes of chocolate and liquorice.
Roasted and warming alcoholic finish.

(Bottle 37,5 cl) Courtesy of WeeHeavySD/toncatcher. Hazy dark orangey brown with a bubbly and lively off-white head leaving laces. Distinct aroma of sweet bourbon and vanilla. Medium body with overripe fruit, roasted malt, caramel and again sweet bourbon and vanilla. The alcohol only really shows in the finish. 190608

Cask@GBBF2008. Very dark brown colour, close to black, small beigeish brown head, which disappeared quite fast. Wow, so where do I begin? Aroma is raisins and sweet wood along with some vanilla at the first breath-in. The following ones bring a lot of stuff, mild notes of alcohol and chocolate, some slight madeiraish sweetness along with fruityness. Some sweetish sour notes of old coffee. Flavour is about as comples, or maybe even more so. The evident notes are wood, sweet fruits and some spices. All this mixed in with a warming touch of alcohol and some slight notes of smoked wood. Long sweetish caramelly and wooden aftertaste in this beauty. This was beer was a real mindblower, and if the various parts of the mouth picking up flavours could get orgasms, this beer would probably be the one doing it...

Bottled, thanks Marsblursi! hazy dark ruby, rich firm head. Caramelly nose with bourbon and higher alcohols. Seemless soft caramelly body where spun sugar meets grapefruit and bourbon. Really full bodied, still the softness makes it drinkable and pleasant. Whereas the bourbon opens for new experiences it also detracts a little from the seemless malt. Still overwhelming and fantastic.

Cask @ GBBF 2008. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small tan head.Has a sweetish malty raisin and dark fruit aroma with some hints of vanilla and some hints from the wood. Sweetish warming malty caramel flavor with lots of dark fruit and vanilla. Has also some hints of boubon. Has a long warming malty vinous and dark fruit finish with some hints of vanilla in the aftertaste. Very nice.

Beautiful oaky smoothness with smooth bourbon that does nothing but compliment the beer. Semi-dry finish. Yum!
5th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Superb! Woody but not dry. Whiskeyish bot not bitter. Fresh. Lovely!

2008 bottle courtesy of nbutler 11, thanks very much! Loud pop, massive brown head with very long retention. Aroma of burnt caramel syrup, port wine, raisins. Taste is sweet balsamic vinegar, dates, chocolate syrup. Tastier than the brandy barrel version.
