4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A very good beer but a bit thinner in the mouthfeel than I expected and maybe a little heavy on the bourbon. But overall very solid.

Whooo mamma! Iíve been hearing good things about this beer and finally know why. Pours black with no head what so ever; typical of Lost Abbey beers. Aromas of big alcohol, caramel, vanilla, and some roast. Flavors of sweet vanilla, caramel, oak, and roast. This is a great beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
This beer takes Barley wines up to the next level. Wonderful malt, bourbon, followed by vanilla nose and flavors. Very rich and smooth. Blended with perfection. Every year has its differences. Canít make out the date, but, its probably 2012. Bourbon Barrel. 12.5%

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Nose rich caramel, brown sugar, whiskey, dark fruit. taste oak and fantastic sweetness of caramel, cola, vanilla, whiskey. Whiskey accents the caramel with perfect presentation. Surprisingly clean finish not cloying and alcohol keeps it light on the tongue. very impressive and first from this brewery as well

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep dark burnt mahogany color with a huge thick gaseous smokey khaki foam. The nose is rich and inviting with notes of sweet brown sugar, caramel, toasted pecans, boozy vanilla, coconut. The palate follows with a great sweetness that is encompassed by rich round boozy complexity. The finish is not sticky but lends to the earthy leather spectrum with a hint of bitterness and a long boozy linger.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a vary dark brown with fine tan head. Aroma is sweet, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, mild bourbon, vanilla, caramel, very sweet throughout. Fairly mild considering barrel time. Soft carbonation, medium body, and a very smooth texture. Sweet mild, bourbon beer. Overall a bit of a disappointment.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from a bottle purchased a year ago into a small snifter with zero carbonation.
Aroma is straight up whiskey love!
Taste of heavy dark fruit with a touch of licorice?
A thick syrup of boozy love which makes the year of wait so worth it.
Made my top 10 list....

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - 2009, thanks bul11zeye. Opened with some trepidation. Flat as a board, of course. Pour is murky mahogany, no head, no lacing. Aroma is.... NOT infected. Whew. caramel, toffee, dried fruits, A&J brandy, vanilla. Medium sweet, little bitterness, perhaps just a faint note of tartness, but that may be my imagination. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Brandy burn. Minimal astringence. Somewhat oxidized. Good, not great, BA BW.
