COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Down in Kentucky and across the pond in Scotland, distillers who age their whiskeys for many years refer to the evaporation of the spirits from their barrels as ďThe Angelís Share.Ē We couldnít agree more. Our Angelís Share is a barrel aged burgundy colored ale infused with copious amounts of dark caramel malt to emphasize the vanilla and oak flavors found in freshly emptied brandy barrels. Each batch spends no less than 6 months aging in the oak. The beer is available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at inspired locations.

2010 ABV: 11.5% 375ml Bottling stamp on neck says 2010 but was released in Jan 2011. It is called the 2011 Angels Share Brandy.

2008 ABV: 12.5%, gold lettering, 750ml and 375ml, with 2008 on label

2008 375ml thanks to Odeed. Pours a cloudy brown with no visible carbonation. CARAMEL, raisin booze, cherry, soy sauce, maybe some vanilla aromas show up. Flavor is sweet, malty, and somewhat salty, finishes with malt flavor that reminds me of the color red. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy with an inkling of carbonation. Overall itís very good, but hasnít blown me away.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2014 2012 vintage. Pours a a dark cola brown with almost no head and little lacing. Aroma is wonderful with nutty, caramel scent along with plums and figs. Also get some toasted coconut and vanilla. Taste is very similar with molasses sweetness and some chocolate syrup and a bit of roastiness. Get those nutty flavors with the dark fruits and the toasted coconut. Just a bit of alcohol. Finishes with some sweetness. Mouthfeel was oily and medium bodied with low carbonation. Delicious. Best barleywine Iíve had.

2013 bottle. Pours a fairly clear dark amber brown with a few bubbles but no head. Slick, oily lacing. Nose and taste are virtually identical. Malt, Coffee, chocolate syrup, coconut, vanilla, caramel, prune/raisin, a little roast and just the faint bit of alcohol. A soft, smooth mouthfeel, medium body. Not much carbonation and just a little alcohol warmth. Balance is incredible with just the right amount of everything. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled vertical: 2008 vintage is 375 ml, 2009 vintage is 750 ml. Pours a translucent dark brown/caramel color, nearly still (after head quickly faded). Aroma is dark fruit and booze, with notes of plums, dark cherries and prune. Flavor is malty, sweet caramel, and dark fruit with overall delicious sour tang. A slight port complexity. From notes 1/23/10 (Geist Dark Lord tasting)

Bottle at Falling Rock Tap House in Denver. Pours pitch black and inky with no head whatsoever. Aroma is sweet brandy and some light anise, molasses, more sweet sugar. Flavor follows with thick brandy and molasses flavors, some light oakiness, burnt caramel, very sweet. Nearly no carbonation in this one, and on the sweet side which cuts through the thickness and puts things a bit on the cloying side. Big bodied though. I definitely liked the bourbon version better than this one, but would be nice on a winter day.

On my third and final flight at Stones Liberty Station outlet in San Diego on 17th March 2014. Came black with a thinning tanned head. Rich and deep malty molasses rule the nose and taste, this is one heavy brew with plenty going on to occupy your senses. A great send off from a lovely setting, slow walk back to the hotel took a bit longer because of this beer!

Poured from tap to glass. Dark hue with off white head . Huge aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak, caramel, molasses, toffee, soy, prunes, leather, tobacco. Mouthfeel is fantastic with full body and soft carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with woody tannins in the following and ethanol finish. Overall...wow!

Dark brown pour with reddish tinge and no head whatsoever. Aroma of malts, caramel, raisins, toffee and vanilla. Taste of caramel malts, prunes, figs, toffee, vanilla and slight oak barrels. Slightly fruity. Full bodied, no carbonation. Very tasty beer, a little carbonation would have upped the score, felt like I was drinking a beer I had left on the counter overnight!
