goldtwins (3668), Nesconset, New York, USA May 1, 2008 The rating is a combo of the couple of bottles tasted. Poured a hazy dark brown color with an off-white head. Semi-sweet start with a mild-moderate tartness. Notes of cherry and wood with hints of leather. The flavor was tart but had a light sweetness in there as well. Light taste of raisins. Semi-dry finish with a mildly bitter finish.
Dickinsonbeer (2458), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 2, 2008 Big Thanks to Miver for bringing this to the last tasting. Pours a murky amber and high carbonation due to an explosion of the bottle- Chill this down and open over the sink!!! This one is definitely a solid blend of 3 great beers, so how could the end result be bad? This was great- aroma of super funky brett and other wild yeasts/bacteria, along with a nice aged woody aroma but not too oaky or vanilla-like. Nice founky flavor with some aged caramel malts, ligth oxidation, thcik sweet toasted adn deep caramel sharp malts, light acetic acid, even some ketchup, and some light oakiness. Good mouthfeel- smooth, high carb is nice in here- and a great lasting acidic finish. Nice blend. egajdzis (2865), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Poured a lightly hazy purple brown color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of light brett, cherries, raspberries, some roast, a bit of cocoa, and vanilla. Taste of sweet caramel up front, some sour cherry, raisins, roasted malts, with some cocoa, vanilla oak, and light alcohol in the finish. Thanks Joe! madsberg (4360), Bangalore, India Jun 27, 2008 Bottled at Papsoes Blind tasting 19th. June 2008 no 25: Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense brown head. Brett, grapefruits, sourness, vanilla and oak in the aroma. Flavour of berries, fruits, grape, spice, yeast and wood. Complex and balanced. Full bodied. Dry. Woody sweetnes and sourness in the end. Very well balanced. hopdog (4347), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 27, 2008 Bottle shared thanks to miver. Gusher alert. This one shot the cork out at 100 mph and soaked my ceiling. Poured a medium brown color with an average sized of white head. Aromas of cherries, tart fruits, yeast, oaky woodiness, and vanilla. Tastes of cherries, dark fruits, bourbon, oak, and vanilla. TomDecapolis (2318), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2008 Thanks to miver for sharing this one! I’m pretty sure this thing blew a whole through a ceiling tile i the cellar. Pours a hazy brown with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of tart cherry pie, oak, vanilla, pie crust, dark fuits, earthy...pretty much can’t beat this aroma. Flavor was more earthy up front, toffee, tart cherries, vanilla, dark fruits, a hint of bourbon, some oak/woody notes.
