3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Peach fuzz-colored with mild haziness and just a hint of bubbles atop. Fruity aroma -- peach juice, orange, lilac, red apple. Mild earthy hops. I can’t stop going back to take more whiffs. The flavor blends acid and fruit, leaning toward acid. Unripe pear, white pepper, green apple skin, red apple pulp, white wine. A flash of white vinegar and dandelion at the finish. Medium, peppery carbonation with huge, enamel-ripping tartness. Medium-light body. Good flavor, though the tartness is a bit out of control. It covers up the depth of flavor a bit.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer pours a slightly murky reddish-amber color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Vinous aroma with yeast, oak and malt notes. Medium body with flavors of vinous oak, herbal yeast, red grapes and earthy malt. The finish is tart grape and oak. Good beer all around.

From massive post 1st child backlog, the official, Chase is here beer that had been sitting for such an occasion. Pours out a mostly clear, well carbonated amber/copper color with a small off white head. Aroma is of bitter grapes, funky barnyard, light lemon tartness, musty basement and light vinegar. Taste is super complex, lemon peel, light funky basement, horse blanket, tart fruits, oak, white grapes, mild mothballs. Really awesome.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle shared by Bill at a local tasting (from notes). Pours a cloudy dark golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have a big tart/sour quality, tannic, grape skins, funk, lactic, some acidity, cranberry like notes. The finish is dry and not overly sour. This is actually quite drinkable.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
In short: A funky (lambic-ish) fruity tannic amber ale. Excellent.
How: Bottle 750ml, consumed when approximately 2 years of age. Bottle sent to me by kegbear, thanks a million Craig.
The look: Mostly cloudy amber body topped by an off-white head.
In long: Nose is huge funk, very horse blanket, old barnyard, a fruity-tannic component. In mouth the beer with thick and juicy with a relaxed carbonation. Taste is cleaner than expected, bright funk, tannins, medium lactic acidity, grains, fruit skin, lemon zest. Mild tartness morphing into a bone-dry finish. Given the high ratings I expected an intense hard-to-drink acetic bomb, happy to say this is not the case, this is relatively easy to drink for the style. The lacto-ish-funky character is a lot more like a lambic than a typical American Sour. Overall, this is a rather smooth lambic-like fruity tannic beer, very elegant, lots of class, somewhat easy to drink. I’d sure like to drink another bottle of this, but coming across a bottle of this beer is about as unlikely as coming across a children book titled "Hop In A Stranger Car For A Great Adventure".
