Smell is sweet, sour and spicy with hay, grapefruit juice, orange zest, overripe grapes, turmeric and hints of apple cider vinegar. Taste is sweet and sour with grapes, lemon juice, cloves, brett, white pepper, barnyard and turmeric. Mouthfeel is round, tiny tart and medium bodied. 3fourths (8549) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 11, 2012
bottle sample at Sour & Bitter. acetic, prickly, raw and husky; semi-sweet honey malt with sugared/crystalline egg shell yeast. rough acid, rough carbonation, as is expected from lost abbey. tingly tutti-frutti fruit/sugar flavor with medium to medium-low sweetness; has a mild spice / seed / herbal character and a touch of bleach late. the crushed sweet-tart powder character that I find in other lost abbey sours is in this one as well.
