3 or 4 draft samples at the Lost Abbey release. Black pour, but light enough to let some light through, with a very small bubbly head. This was draft, so I don’t know how the carbonation turned out in the bottle. Chocolate, big sour cherry flavor, juicy red cherry, wood, cedar, vinous, vinegar, light bourbon notes, and touches of vanilla. Really excellent sour.

Dark brown in color, thin head. Tons of cherry and barrel aromas. Lots of sour aroma and flavors. This was a rich and tasty brew. Lots of barrel flavor and dry finish.

75cl, at 8%Vol (009 written on the cork), new exclusive American brew Anno 2011, with sour cherries, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex sour brew, sour/vinous and slightly alcoholic/fruity/roasted, balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, very good and original brew, yet very expensive!

Auction win.
Another terrific brew by lost abbey and a really great sour. A few things that stood out for me was the cherry, strawberry, bourbon, coffee and sour fruit aroma and taste. Again all blended gret.

17/04/2012 500ml bottle, shared by Matt (thanks 50belair!) @ Brasserie 4:20.

Surprising beer for sure. Pours a dark black color with little to no carbonation, leaving a very slight tan head. Aroma is of prune/raisin and tart cherry. Taste is similar to the aroma with prune/raisin followed with a sour/tart cherry combined with malt and wood flavor. Definitely glad I was able to try this complex beer that kept me intrigued through the whole bottle.

I was skeptical at first because of the dark chocolate/red color that was poured into my 4oz taster. But man, did it taste completely different than expected.
First off, the smell kept me guessing which flavors were going to be more pronounced in the taste. I picked up a tangy, oaky, nutty smell. And then some sour fruit and grape odors.
Very tasty. First you get a little of a smooth chocolate flavor mixed with those tart cherry notes. This beer had a pleasant sour/tartness level. And the bourbon and wine flavors harmonized perfectly with the medium to full body feel of the beer.
I could still taste the flavors on my tongue 5-10 minutes after finishing the pour.
Glad I was fortunate to pick up a few bottles to age and drink again later!

Best way I can describe this is a cigar soaked in lemon juice. Different in a good way.

Really nice sour shared at Hunahpu’s release. Pours hazy deep brown, murky, with a slight head. Aroma is funky barnyard, raspberry, citrus, tartness, sour cherry... Flavor is similar, with sour and tart notes all over. Citrus, sour raspberry, acetic. Really awesome. Thanks for the pour, Ryan!
