3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Woodshed 3.0! Sample courtesy of Norm (don’t move away Norm, please). Bottle pours with a slightly hazy gold body that has a big bubbled white head. The aroma offers up some funky notes, lemon and then a mix of peach and funky yeastiness. The taste is funky and tart and acidic with notes of peach and tannin tart peach skins. The funky yeast notes run amuck here pulling along tartness and a big acidic to vinegar sensation. This is a bit restrained from being out right puckering, which agrees with my palate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by Ignace at the Hopduvel. Muddy pour. Peachy aroma, very light acetic notes, a lot of buttery oak. Taste is tart, mildly acetic, fruity, peachy finish. Palate is light-med bodied with low carbonation. I hope this bottle wasn’t in good shape because it would be quite disappointing.

Bottle thnx to bobochamp !
Pours murky yellow, no foam
Smell is typical american sour . don’t get that much of the peaches ... some notes of it, maybe
Taste is full, sour , peaches alright , but nowhere near fou foune ( where we all think about when we hear sour and peaches ) . Dry , funky, sour peaches . Good carbonation . I like it very much , but given its price, i’d take fou foune ...

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
In short: A ton of fresh peaches in a funky blonde ale with controlled acidity/sourness. Refreshing and surprisingly highly drinkable.
How: Bottle 750ml shared at pre-HFFoFA 2013 tasting. Bottle was approximately 1.5 year old at the time.
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: Nose is very bright, full of fresh peaches and with a vibrant clean rustic funk, a bit like smelling a fresh Cantillon Foufoune before the Cantillon barnyard funk takes over. In mouth the beer has a full body that feels like because of the very lively carbonation, pleasant mouthfeeel. Taste is fresh juicy peaches, some grapefruits, a lot of lacto funk with the sourness and acidity under control. This beer is refreshing and it has just the right amount acidity and sourness, its rarity is really the only thing that makes it unsessionable. I just checked my ratings and this is the 22nd time I give a Lost Abbey beer a rating of 4.1or above, we may occasionally joke about some Lost Abbey carbonation problems but clearly at the end of the day I’m a huge fan of this brewery. I shitted my pants when I saw someone opening this bottle at the tasting, not really because I was excited, more because I’ve got other problems.
